minoxidil application over Couvre

I am a Norwood 2.5 or so w/ a huge thinning spot on my crown (3 inches in diameter or so). You can see my scalp clearly and there is quite a shine. No one has ever seen it - not even my family b/c I always have some sort of concealer on (either Toppik or Couvre or both). I have been on fines for over a year now w/ no reults whatsoever and have now just started using minoxidil 5%.

Now, my question is this: can I apply the minoxidil over the Couvre w/ little or no loss of effectiveness in regards to absorption? Any idea b/c I just can't let anyone see that bald spot. My family knows I am losing my hair but they have absolutely no idea as to how bad it has gotten in the last year or so. Also, I might add that I'm only 23 and still in Uni.

[Thinning Sucks]

Been doing it for about 10 years now. I have no choice at night other than washing out the Couvre and applying minoxidil. I assume it soaks through the Couvre. One way I can tell is I sometimes get a flaky scalp, which must mean the alcohol at least is getting through to the scalp since morning application is minoxidil then Couvre 10 minutes later (not a long soak).

how is couvre anyway.. if my thinning gets noticible i've considered on either trying that or topikk..
