minoxidil shed?

i've been using minoxidil quite consistently for 4 months now. i haven't noticed much benefit from it, but at times, i've noticed i've shed less hair. recently, however; i've noticed more hairs in my palm when i shower. is this normal? (more meaning 10 - 20 instead of 5 - 10).

the hairs vary from thick to thin, and have a white part at the bottom of them. does this mean i should be expecting good regrowth soon? or does this mean i'm not responding to minoxidil and i'm losing hair?

I've recently noticed a bit of a shed on minoxidil after being on it for about a month and a half. Despite this shed however, I do feel that my hair is thicker. Before I was losing thin and more finer hairs whereas now they seem to have thicken up a bit.
