minoxidil staining hair white

have any of you guys who use minoxidil had this problem? The minoxidil stains my hair white, which is noticeable because my hair is black...

btw - if you are flaking badly (like i was) use neutrogena tgel shampoo

works a charm!

What brand of minoxidil are you using?
I used to have this with minoxidil made at the pharmacy, and I've heard of other people having this problem with certain brands of minoxidil. I now use dr. Lee's minoxidil, and the problem's gone. My hair is very dark too, and so the white stains made my hair look gray.

You guys are talking about a residue and not your hair getting a little bit bleached right?

Well ive been using the offical regaine and some of my hair at the front of my hairline on the left side has gone white.It doesnt wash off,its white in colour and its not vellous,its the same length as the rest of my hair.Im hoping it will be replaced by proper pigmented hair at some stage.

minoxidil has never stained my hairs white but excessive use of hair spray has.

Of course, if you get minoxidil in your hair it will stain your hair a little when it dries, and it may look a little lighter or even greyish if you have really dark hair.
Its not like a permanent staining, once you wash your hair its all good again..oh but then its time for a minoxidil application again, damn!

Its not residue,its white hair.It could be something to do with the male pattern baldness process.Maybe it was frazzled by DHT and the minoxidil is just holding it in place?

It's just residue but it can be annoying. It makes your hair look dull and gray.

yes, the staining that im talking about is just that

it washes off, and i was just wondering if other people have experienced this as well.
