Mode of hair loss?

I used to find a sizeable amount of hair falling out - ie in my hands when washing it, or if I ran my hand through it. Having been in propecias for abotu 3 months that seems to have slowed considerably.

However - what I would LOVE to know is - if such shedding stops - could I STILL be loosing my hair? For instance could it be thining and getting smaller and smaller without any of it falling out or is hair LOSS a necessary sign of male pattern baldness?

Many thanks guys

Goos question but the answer is not so simple....Firstly how can hair get thinner if it does not fallout and regrow as thinner?

Indeed... That's what I thought ... but those who experience great fortune are apt to question it... I'm reticent to say that propecia will keep me where I am simply because the shed has stopped... so I wanted to see what others thought!

I dont know if Im right or wrong on this but heres my opinion. i have been taking Finasteride for a little over 3 months now and I have noticed that my hair is getting thinner and thinner (I could see more scalp in the front).

When I shed hairs from the front i have a tendency to examine the hair (looking to see if its thinner or thicker near the root). My hair is about 4 inches long and I have noticed that the last inch and a half of my hair is thinner and lighter than the rest of the hair.

This has me kinda worried because it seems that my hair is becoming more see thru in the front and this is confirming it. So my opinion is that your hair does not need to shed to become thinner. Hope that kinda helps.
