It's good stuff IMHO. Has good ingredients. Will you respond? Maybe.

Lef has a cheaper version but the one you buy at Dr. Proctor's site has more stuff in it.

It lasts a LONG time if you use it like Nizoral. I mean a LONG time.

Go to Dr. Proctor's site. Just do a search. Also search for Lef.com.

I think if you have a Boyd's store near you the stronger version is about $5.00 cheaper.

what i am concerned about is the "dependence" that my hair will have towards it. By that i mean; minoxidil for example when used properly will give you good results, like it did for me... But as soon as you stop using it, the density of ones hair, along with texture and thickness, will drop way below what it was supposed to, had you not taken any medication at all. there was a nice chart on this site that illustrated that.

If i'm not mistaken, NANO shampoos have "Minoxidal-type" ingredients and i wanted to know if they cause the same sort of results, if one stops using them?

besides that, can anyone here say that their maintence and/or regrowth was due solely to NANO and nizoral rotations?

Good question Bio. I read the answer to dependence before but have forgotten what it was!! Sorry.

I plan on using it for the rest of my life so I'll never really know. A bottle really does last a long, long time. Conditioner is good also and lasts a long, long time.

This may shed some light. I emailed Dr. Proctar awhile back and here are his responses.

Hi there -

I am a 31 year old man who is using Propecia. That is all I am using at this time and am thinking about cutting my dosage from everyday to every other day. I also want to try other products to compliment the Propecia. I came across your 2 products and was very interested. I had a few questions I hope you can answer before I use this product.

1) I am reluctant to try minoxidol because of it's shedding reputation. I am afraid at my age that if the hair sheds to badly it wont grow back.

It does not work like this. The shedding is caused by new hair starting to grow. Everything that brings follicles out of dormancy can cause loss-phase hair to fall out early in some persons. This included both Propecia and minoxidil. OUr products can do it also. The hair was about to fall out and what causes this is new hair stating to grow.

Also, I have read horror stories about stopping minoxidal and then all your hair falls out in a matter of months.

This i also true of all hair-loss treatments, including ours.

Although Propecia. May have the same effect it doesn't seem to be as sever or happen as often.

Likely, this is because propecia does not work as well as minoxidil.

I was wondering if these shampoos have the same effect. In other word is there shedding,

Yes.

and if I stop using it will my hair be in worse shape then when I started.

We cannot guarantee this, becasue your hair may get worse on its own. But early shedding is a sign that treatment is working and is usually associated with a good eventual result.

2) Does either of these products contain Minoxidal?

Proxiphen does , Prox-N and Nano shampoo do not.

3) How often do you have to use these products, and how long do they typically last?

See http://www.drproctor.com tyically prox-N is used 1-2 times a day. A bottle least about 2 months. NANO shampoo 2-4 times a week, a bottle last about 2 months.
Dr Proctor

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you. Of these 2 products, at this point, I am leaning more towards the Nano shampoo.

Can anyone who has tried Nano answer these questions for me as well? It would be appreciated!!!

thanks old baldy for the reply, and thanks md2002 for that e-mail, but i need some clarification, please correct me if i'm wrong.

1)the nano shampoos DO cause sheds
2)they do not contain minoxidal per se, but work in the same way
3)they MIGHT have the same adverese side affects as minoxidal when treatment is stopped

What ingredients does it contain that make its course of action 'similar' to minoxidal?

Can anyone anyone say that their is any cosmetic benefit that they noticed only from the NANO shampoos? in other words, is it effective, and would it be a good addition to a more 'natural' regimine, as compared to the big 3?

thanks again for everything.

Can't help you.... It seems from the e-mail that NANO does not have minoxidil in it but Proxephin does. I think if you use NANO you will be ok with no dependency?? I'm just guessing though. I am in the same boat you are. Trying to figure out if I want to use NANO, or Revivogen.

Nano shampoo has definately helped me out and I strongly recommend it for you. It isn't foamy like regular shampoos, so what you might want to do is. Put another shampoo on your hair before you apply NANO, then put the NANO on top. Every hair loss product creates some sort of dependency on future use, not only minoxidil and NANO.

Prox is the strongest of the three. It has minoxidil and spironolactone, I believe, in addition to the copper peptides and NANO ingredients contained in Prox-N. NANO shampoo has similar ingredients to Prox-N, meaning copper peptides and NANO.

i read that spironolactone can feminaize you by giving you the female hormone or something like that

I'd recommend NANO shampoo. It lasts a lot longer than they say it does, I'd say around 5-6 months at least. Prox is way too expensive. Prox-N hasn't done anything for me yet, but it's only been like 3 months. The shampoo is a very good addition to your regimine.

It should thicken your hair and maybe some regrowth after about 6 months. You need to be patient and take pictures. I use mine 2 of every 3 days, the other day I use 1% Nizoral.

Well that recommendation certainly depends on what you want to achieve! If you want to maintain hair and/or regrow I think Proxiphen is your best bet (looking at the ingredients). If you you just want ease of use yeah - Nano Shampoo is the way to go - but so is regular shampoo then! Do I think Nano shampoo will grow hair? No not at all - but I do think it can have some effect when used in conjunction with Proxiphen. I'm not speaking of experience here - but I honestly don't believe any shampoo can either save or regrow your hair alone by itself....

BTW. Proxiphen is not really that expensive. I use it on my hairline and front only and one dose will last me for at least 2 and a half month - and after one year of use you only have to use it every second day.....That is - if it works!
