wow there is a lot of info on this site!
ok, so im 22 and i have recession at the temples by about 2 inches i think, not sure if it is going back any further but recently ive noticed that the hair inbetween my two temples is becoming a thinner strip.
im already on nizoral and i was thinking propecia definitely. should i just take the plunge and go for minoxidil as well? the big three? or should i wait to go on to minoxidil? i know people say save it, but i dont see the reaosn because if it gives you an offset of growth, surely it is best to have this offset sooner rather than later?
and i heard somewhere, and this may be vague, that there are different products which stop dht at different stages or soemthing? should i use propecia with something else then?
thanks to all the people who have already applied to some of my posts.

The easiest thing to do would be to start the propecia alone. If stuff doesn't look better in 6 months add the minoxidil. If you want the best possible odds of thickening/regrowth you should use them both. minoxidil just once/day if twice is too much hassle.

Or you could start with minoxidil and keep that up until you need the 'pecia. It's been my experience that minoxidil works faster (for responders) so I think it's the best thing to start with. JMO.

thanks niles, but shouldnt i get on the propecia first to slow down the propecia?
i dont understand why people say first go on propecia and then minoxidil, or the other way round as they are obth doing different jobs and tackling different aspects of hair loss, so i didnt think it would be a case of, go on minoxidil forst and then pro later as if you leave one out you arent getting the full benefits?

Yes they both do different jobs and you'll have the best chance at maintenance/regrowth with both. I just think some people can get by with one or the other for a while until they need to add. Just less hassle to use one treatment for a while, also could help determine which treatment is doing what.

My personal preference is to use minoxidil first because you'll usually know if it's working by 4-6 months. In my case, I was on 'pecia for over 3 years and never knew if/how much it was helping. With minoxidil, I could see results at 2 months. Also I think 'pecia puts my libido way low. It is important though to maintain long-term.
