I've been on propecia for 3 years now and also been on nizoral for the same duration. The only thing I haven't tried is a toppic lotion such as rogaine, because of my severe dandruff (Seborrhea Dermatitis) I always thought it would be a problem. Does anyone have any suggestions or recomendations on picking up a toppical lotion? Also how about the new toppical lotion from Pfiezer is that an option or not yet?

First you need to stabilize the problem scalp. I would suggest using a mixture of #1 Emu or Jojoba oil, along with
#2 Essential oils like cedarwood, lavender, lemon, ect

Chemical topicals will probably aggravate the problem.

This lotion is actually a Minoxidil Foam, expected to be over 10% strength. It isnt available yet.

Should I not worry about my scalp condition and just go into using %5 monoxidil? Also what brand monoxidil do you recomend? Last question: When is this new foam going on the market?

I cannot tell you whether or not to be worried about your scalp condition, only you can decide that. Maybe you should try a shampoo to combat the irritation - maybe something like T/Gel or American Crew Reviatalise.
As to what brandof minoxidil to use I believe it matters very little. Kirkland is the cheapest and plenty of folk on here use it. Minoxidil foam has finished its FDA trials and I expect it to become a reality sometime in 2006.

Vid are you sure that your scalp condition atm isn´t caused by 3 years of nizoral. I was on nizoral aswell for like 7 - 8 months and as soon as I stopped my scalp was feeling better. nizoral isn´t supposed to be used as often as this forum recommends infact it´s supposed to be used about a 1% of what this forum suggests.

Dandruff is a fungus and like bacteria they too develope resistance to drugs.

My best bet is stop nizoral and any other topical for 2 - 3 weeks and see what happens. I can recommend a shampoo from Kerastase it´s called derma calm, it´s pretty expensive but it´s magical for the scalp. No it won´t regrow hair but consider this - nizoral has about 1/10th of minoxidil effect on hairgrowth and about the same effect on DHT blockage.
