need some advice

Hey everyone I had a few concerns, and was wondering if anyone could help me out. I've been on finasteride for about 5 months now but I'm becoming more concerned that it's not helping much. When I started finasteride I had many vellus hairs on my temples which I thought finasteride would help thicken up, instead those hairs completely disappeared. Not sure if this was bc of the finasteride. Also I've noticed this past month my hair has become very greasy/oily all the time. Ultimately I was wondering should I decrease my finasteride dosage( I take 1mg ED), or should I drop finasteride all together and get on dutasteride? Any advice would be appreciated!

finasteride is never guaranteed to help your hair line and is unlikely to spark regrowth. Based on what you are saying it sounds like your hair loss is in its early stages so you should definitely just stay on finasteride for at least a year then evaluate if it is working or not. Also it is really hard to give advise without some pictures.

Yeah dusty's right, I'm sure the top success stories get more attention and a lot of people just maintain on finasteride.
