Hi guys i live in melbourne and i need to order Proscar for the first time. There are plenty of stores selling it but im worried that they will get seized by customs. Are there any aussies in this forum that ordered Proscar from overseas successfully. Also what is the best store to buy it from.
Need to order proscar, any aussies please help?

Sorry I can't actually give advice on your question - all I can say is why not get a prescription for proscar or propecia from a Doctor here? It took me a long time before I asked but I finally said "hell would I rather lose my hair or face a little embarassment from asking a Doctor to help me stop losing my hair".
However, chances of it getting seized are reasonably low - i don't think it is restricted from importation as there is no Australian manufacturer I know of - if you had a prescription and DID get caught importing some at least you could argue that you actually NEED the medication which would probably end or ease any penalty.

can't you get it from the doctors. They may seize it. Pretty strict on imports of certain types.....

Just go to your doctor and ask for a script for Proscar (you may need to convince him/her but as long as you have your fact ready you should be alright). I got a script for propecia from my doctor and 8 months after that I called him up to get a sript for proscar - not a problem with that at all.
For your own peace of mind - do this instead of taking the risk of getting counterfeit drugs (not saying this is likely but it can happen).

This worries me as my girlfriend and I intend emigrating to Melbourne in the near future.
I have always got my Merck Proscar off the net, I have been doing this for around 6 years. Should I get or start to get a prescription from my Doctors in the UK, will that be proof enough for the Australian Doctors to continue prescribing Proscar to me?
Out of interest how much is it on prescription over there?

I'm from Perth and I'm on Proscar as well.
I obtained my prescription for Proscar from a GP here in Perth, then I ordered my script from an online Australian pharmacy, http://www.pharmacydirect.com.au ... The price was $80 AUD for 1x 30 tab of Proscar. It is genuine Proscar made by Merck.
I wasn't going to take the risk ordering from an international site.

I'm in Melbourne and I managed to get myself a Proscar prescription without any problems whatsoever. I just explained to my doctor that it was the same active chemical that is in Propecia - he looked it up, called me a sly dog and wrote out the prescription!
I did have to acknowledge for him that I was taking more finasteride than I would be on Propecia, but it makes fighting hairloss a LOT more cost effective.
I ordered my Proscar from epharmacy.com.au, which involved sending them the prescription in a reply paid envelope - too easy!
