New guy looking for some suggestions...

Hey guys, great forum. Ive been reading it over all night. Anyhow, ide like to dip my toe into trying out maybe a couple of these medications and was hoping maybe for some suggestions. After reading many posts tonight, I see 'the big 3' refered to many times and I think these big 3 you all speak of are 1. finasteride-something, 2. Minoxodil (or rogaine?) and 3. Nizoral shampoo.

Ide like to give these 3 a shot, but on a college student budget. I tried Rogaine for three monthes, didnt really notice a difference and got frustrated seeing the pricetag. I now feel like maybe I should have given it a little longer. Anyhow, I know where I can easily pick that up. My first question is the 'finasteride' products. Im a college student on a college student budget so Ide like to end up ordering something online...enough for maybe 2 months. It seems like most people agree that this 'UnitedPharmacies' website is reasonably reputable, so I checked their site out....The two that ive seen most people using themselves are finpecia (1mg) and fincar (5mg). ALSO ive read that you ultimately only need .5 mg daily, which would mean cutting finpecia into halves, and fincar into 10ths (which im imagining is impossible). Saw something about someone disolving tablets in alcohol and taking a liquid measurement daily to solve the cutting pills into 10ths problems...Anyone have more info on this? Anyhow, thats where Im at right now. If someone could suggest the easist way to go for a newbie, ide appreciate it. Thanks guys.

And another question about the nizoral. I see that most people suggest only using it twice a week or so for the 2% perscription. If i were to pick the 1% up at the grocery store and used it say...every other day, would it have the same effect? Thanks again.

The cheapest and most legit places to get Finpecia and Fincar are inhousepharmacy.com and unitedpharmacies.com

I pay 13 pound for a months supply of Finpecia from inhouse.

You can buy Rogaine in generic form like the finasteride. On e-bay you can get a four months supply of Kirkland minoxidil for around 40 dollars which is a bargain.

You can also get Nizoral very cheaply on e-bay. A rough estimate for your whole monthly regimen would work out to be around 40 dollars or 20 pounds.

In terms of your other question about nizoral, i'm not sure.

Looking at the inhousepharmacy website...They have 3 strips of finpecia (30 pills which are 1mg each) advertised at 25 dollars...and three strips of fincar (30 pills which are 5 mg each) advertised as 27 dollars. Why is the price nearly the same for 5 times the amount of finasteride?

Because Fincar 5mg is really for prostate problems, usually older men take the 5mg pill daily to shrink their prostate.

The 1mg Finpecia is the vanity hair drug and is more expensive because it falls into the vanity drug catagory, 1mg is for hairloss only.

Cutting 5mg into pieces i'm assuming was an idea from a member of the public in order to save money.

I personally take Finpecia 1mg as i can't be bothered with the hassle of cutting them up and would rather have an exact amount of finasteride going in my system daily. But many people buy the Fincar and cut it, it depends on you
