Hi,
Before joining this forum, I've read as many as topics I can.

I'm a 2A. My problem is with my forehead. 'Till now, I didn't bother doing anything for my hair loss. But after reading a few topics here, I thoght that I'm even late.

Right now, I'll probably buy Rogaine Extra Strength. But I'm kind of scared of using Propecia 'coz of its side efects.
I have a few questions:

1- Shall I first visit a dermatologist and then start using Rogaine or any other products? Or can I start using Rogaine right now and then maybe add other things after visiting a dermatologist?
2- I got my hair relaxed yesterday (just to see how it will look) So I was wondering if I shall start using Rogaine after some time? (right now, my sculp hurts little bit. If I can use Rogaine on relaxed hair, I'll wait for a days anyway)

thanks a lot ppl :)

If I were you I would go for the big guns and "nuke" away male pattern baldness( well at least try and hope) , but that's me:p. Visitng a derm is always a good idea. I don't think you should be so scared about the side effects when using finasteride, not everyone experience sides and it's often somtehing that goes away after a couple of months, but noone can tell for sure, everyone is different:)

Rogaine is hard on the scalp so if it hurts now might want to put it off till it heals.

Get some nizoral shampoo 1 or 2%, and get on propecia/proscar as soon as possible.
Getting Proscar will save you a lot of money.

I agree with all what these guys have said. Go ahead and fight it with the big guns man.

First of all, dont let the side effects that some guys are experiencing make u dismiss Propecia, only you would know if its good for you or not after actually using it.

You might wanna go to a Dermatologist but honestly there is nothing that he would say to you thats new.

I have tried hair relaxing before. As a matter of fact, I believe it was the cause of my hair loss, or what accelerated my hair loss.

Nizoral would be good to start cleaning youre scalp but keep in mind it would also might remove the hair relaxing effect and residue. You could use T/ Gel also or instead.

DONT use minoxidil just yet, it would only be more painful on top of the flammation that the relaxer causes the hair cells.

You also need to use Folligen. Read about it, from what I learned is that it helps the hair cells heal from hair relaxers, and perms. So hopefully the damage that hair relaxers caused my hair would be reversed somehow.
Folligen also slows down sheddings. And very healthy to youre hair.
So Folligen is the only thing that I'm aware of that really helps the hair heal from the relaxers damage. Maybe not fully but definetly to a certain extent. After using Folligen and Nizoral for a while, then get on minoxidil.

Good luck with whatever you do. Hope this was helpfull. Weither you see a dermatologist or not, jump on the wagon. The sooner the better.

thanx a lot ppl, you'r replies really helped me...
I'll wait for 1 month before I start using properca/minoxidil. Meanwhile new hair will grow. I guess this works also.

- I thought that Nizoral was just for dandruff.
- can I buy all the prodcuts mentined above without a prescription?

- so in short: after ~ 1 month, when using propercia/minoxidil, which shampoo do you guys recommend me? I know there are many as you mentioned, but which one is the most popular one here? (under these circumstances)

if i were you id get on propecia mate. i know it seems like a big step because its a drug that you ingest but trust me, the side-effects for most people arent that bad. this opinion is based on the majority of posts on this site. of course some people do experience bad sideys, but why not try it and see? your side effects wont be permanent so you might want to check out the most reliable drug for fighting hairloss before you dismiss it. i experienced a little loss of libido when i started but that went after about a week and a half. and when i say lack of libido, im not talking limp dick, just a bit of loss of sexual appetite and say 3/4 erection. but it got fine after that, the body just takes time to adjust to changing hormone levels. of course, this is opinion, but id say a very well informed opinion based on my personal experience, the content of this and a number of other reliable sites and the clinical data.

Go for it!!!

Hi:
I'm from Montreal (28) so my english is not perfect.
I think you should get those pills now...I waited for too long and now I'm paying the price for being so lazy.In fact, it was a break up (4 year relationship) that made me realize how little I was taking care of myself. I was gonna get married this summer so I figured my looks weren't as important...now they are
I've been taking Proscar(1/4) for 2 months now and I have pain in the balls (sometimes...I can't tell if it's Proscar or me crushing them with my legs, ouchh) but besides that everything is fine. I'm still waiting for results but it seems it takes at least 4 months to see some improvement. My head is itchy sometimes and I'm still losing hair so I'll just keep on going
My regime:
Proscar 1/4
Nizoral 2%

By the way, is that enough...can I get good results with that combo?

Thanxs and good luck man(don't forget you must try something before it's too late)

Well where do you live? You can get the Propecia online without a prescription. If u live in the US, then u can purchase minoxidil in stores. Folligen through this website.

Here is what I think u should do. Get on Propecia ASAP, Folligen and Nizoral. As I said wait a while for the minoxidil. A month after using Nizoral and folligen I suppose youre scalp would be ready for minoxidil then.

I'm back again... I live in USA, and today is the big day for me. I'm about to start my fight against hairloss...

I'll order Propecia and Rogaine 5%, but what about Nizoral?
is this the one you guys are talking about?

I checkd CVS website, and they are selling Nizoral 1% without prescription, but 2% is sold with prescription. which one do you guys recommend?

(btw. since GourmetStyleWellness is selling propecia and rogaine online, prescription is not required for them)

Thanks
