noticed my hair thinning out a bit over the last couple of years. nothing too drastic, but something i wanted to try and slow down.
read about dutasteride on these forums and i thought i'd give it a go - however, it killed my sex drive completely dead so i knocked that on the head pretty quickly.
next, about 3 months ago i bought some finasteride. to reduce the sides i just took half a 1mg tablet every day, and the sides have been not too bad, sex drive a bit lower than usual.
however, last week, i've noticed that my nipples, the bit in the middle of the nipple that sticks out, has started to widen and the nipple get a little puffier, thought it wouldn't really be noticeable to anyone else at the mo, i can see the change. Also, the tissue under my nipple seems a bit more fatty than usual.
I've decided to quit the finasteride straightaway as a result. its a shame, as i think my hair seems a bit stronger. That might be something to do with the nizoral shampoo i have been using twice a week though, also. gonna stick with that anyway.
anyway, just thought i'd put my little story down. I'm glad i noticed the slight change- not prepared to risk gyno for the sake of thicker hair, just not worth it. i think if i left it the breast would start to change and the nipple grow puffier and wider, like a womans. not going to take any other pill to 'counter' it like i have heard suggested before - just not worth the risk and don't want to get into a cocktail of pill taking.
if anyone has any other hair loss tips that don't involve tablets that they have found work, please let me know! bit gutted to have to stop the finasteride, but i'm not prepared to take the risk, and at least i don't have to worry about cutting/taking tablets anymore i guess
also, can anyone confirm that when you stop the pills any gyno type effects will stop developing?
