Nizoral - How long will it last?

Hey all,

I've been using Nizoral over a year now and I was wondering, will my scalp ever become resistant to ketoconazole? Basically what Im asking is, will I eventually have to switch to a different form of shampoo for dandruff, such as a tar based one? It seems lately that the nizoral isn't working quite as well for my dandruff, and Im not sure if it was ever helping with the male pattern baldness.

Your scalp will eventually get accustomed to the active ingredient of nizoral. Personally I swap between 3 "dandruff" shampoos; Nizoral, T/Gel and L'oreal anti-dandruff.

There is no evidence that your scalp will 'get accustomed' to Ketoconazole.

These people are wrong

Ketoconazole is a mild anti-androgen, a coal tar shampoo like T/Gel is not.

The beneficial effect on hair growth from Nizoral is believed to be from the anti-androgen effect.
