nizoral/Proscar vs. Revita/dutasteride

I've had moderate luck the last 6-7 years retaining my hair with 1.25mg Proscar and nizoral shampoo a couple times a week, plus daily Rogain. My hair is not great, but it hasn't been looking worse, either. In fact, I've seen people who have lapped me since '99 in terms of baldness. I'm sure they're wondering how I managed to achieve a holding pattern (as opposed to horsehoe pattern).

In any case, I haven't posted to the boards in awhile, or in general done much internet research in a few years. I'm wondering if anyone has any comment on the nizoral/Proscar regimen versus Revita/Dutasteride (two things which appear newer to the scene for me, and potentially more powerful). Any luck with these? Enough for someone like me to change his regimen?

Please help get me back in the loop as to what works and what doesn't. Thanks!

I've heard about people switching over to dutasteride, from finasteride, and having good results. There's one guy here who started on dutasteride and Spectral DNC/foam and had GREAT results in like 5 or 6 months. Probably a fortunate anomaly with the results he had.

Though in the end it's going to be up to you and what exactly do you want? Do you really want to try to get some more regrowth or are you satisfied with what you've got now?

Pending how much more regrowth you want you could switch out all three things too. Go from plain minoxidil --> Spectral DNC, finasteride --> dutasteride, Nizoral --> Revita (& NANO on the off-days). It will cost you more money too as these 3 options are all more expensive than what you're on now.

You can also simply switch these out one at a time rather than all 3 at once. Want to be a guinea pig for us and simply switch from Nizoral to Revita and see how that works out after 6 months or so?! :D That would actually be the cheapest, easiest, and most logical switch if you wanted to ease into it.
