Nizoral Question

I see that in many places people refer to Nizoral as one of the "big three" treatments for male pattern baldness. I'm a little confused by this, because Nizoral is an anti-dandruff shampoo.

Do people recommend Nizoral because it helps deal with the itchy side effects of Rogaine? If I don't have any side effects, then do I need to use Nizoral?

one of the side effects of ketoconazole is a decrease in testosterone. But its also a stonger anti-fungal then pyrithione Zinc found in regular dandruff shampoos.

you can actually get a side effect from using this shampoo (itching/redness/soreness). It doesnt really do anything to battle sided effects from minoxidil.

I'm wondering the same thing as Jack and I'm still confused. What is "ketoconazole" is that part of the nizoral or the rogaine? What is the purpose of the Nizoral shampoo?
