i am experienceing rapid hair loss all over my head inculding around the ears and sideburns. the vertex is painful and there is also significant loss, hair pulls are resulting in about 5 or 6 hairs at closeproximity to eachothert. whats going on. my whole scalp is becoming diffuse and painful, the hair is falling out rapidly.

Go and see a doctor! This doesn´t sound like normal male pattern baldness. There may be another health related cause for your loss.
