Hello all,
Just a quick summary. I was deployed to Afghanistan when I was 19 and i was living in the middle of the desert there and started breaking out real bad. I got some accuatne prescribed when i came home for my 2 weak break. I went back to my base but did not start using it till my last 3 months of deployment because i wanted to come home with clear skin. It worked real well but when i was done with the 3 month treatment i came home and started shedding massive amounts of hair. I used to never see my hair shed. Its been 8 months since ive been off accutane and still shed massive amounts. I would say I lost about 70 percent of my hair. I used to have real thick hair. side and back used to shed hard too but that slowed down after 6 months but still shed. My hair line is the same but way thinner no reccesion but my crown is horrible. Should i get on the big 3? will it help me at all? My dad is very bald at 62, however he started shedding when he was 30.My hair was inintially very dry after accutane and thats why i thought it was shedding, but now its always so oily and itchy yet still sheds the same! I would really appreciate any help ive been very depressed. Coming home from a deployment I was not looking forward to this.

Hair loss is a side effect of accutane. It doesn't happen to everyone though. The normal length of accutane treatment is 4-6 months or possibly longer depending on the severity. The shedding from the accutane should taper off as it exits your system.

This is it but it ages you and it provokes hairloss if you have male pattern baldness. I posted a link in my thread which pissed everyone off since I have a beautiful head of hair. I wish I had brad pitt's hair line but, I don't as it receeds like bradley cooper and most men in hollywood.

I documented my hair routine. I suggested books on health, exercise, nutritious diet, supplements, and relaxation.

If my hair goes, I'll get a faux hawk, fade it or buzz it. Its hair. Nothing lasts forever. I am dating a couple girls due to cold approach. It hasn't hurt my chances except if I get in my head and go into scarcity. Things changed after self acceptance and love. Its only as big a deal as you make it.

One of the last girls I really clicked with I met after a bad break out before I took accutane. I wouldn't have approached her if I knew about the break out since I'd be in my head. It would have been a big loss and my doing.

Good luck buddy.
