23 m, losing hair slowly at temples and front since ~19. Used finasteride briefly in 2010 but only for 6 weeks as I freaked out about what I read online. Ready to give it another try.
Here are the results pre-finasteride. Quoting my doctor:
"Testosterone: 335 ng/dl (normal)
5aDHT: 281 pg/ml (normal)
DHEA-S: 752 ug/dl (elevated but may be aged related and mild/moderate elevation in men doesn't usually indicate pathology)
Yes, I can prescribe finasteride for you if you like. Please let me know."
I am a little nervous about side effects/lack of efficacy because the T and DHT are at the lower end of normal and I am still losing hair. Ugh. T/DHT ratio is 11.8:1 which is normal though.
