Hi all, this is something I've been wondering about.
Just a quick fill in on the history of it, I've been on Propecia for just over a year now and was just starting to get some results, hair fall had near enough stopped and my hair looked and felt better with a definate improvement in coverage. I then started training, cardio and weights, and the hair loss has returned with a vengence, and all the gains have been lost. I have had a similar reaction previously and when the exercise is stopped it slooooowly gets back to normal.
I know that some people on here think that exercise cant change things that much, but I also know that there are others who have had a similar reaction.
I think it would it be safe to say, that in my case, taking the propecia did / does work normally but once starting the training, be it either weight training or cardio, the hair loss has come back.
With regard to how the Propoecia works, could you see it as a sort of slow trickle filter that restricts and gets rid of the DHT thingy, which in my case on normal day to day life was enough. But when I introduce the training, my testosterone levels have increased, creating more DHT, in excess of which the propecia can deal with, which spills over the filter and into my body.
If this is the case, would an increased dose allow more capacity to deal with the raised levels? or how about the introduction of Saw Palmetto, which does a similar type of thing?, I've used S.P in the past with no side effects and some results, and if it could boost the propecia I could include it into my regime.
Apologies for the poor explanation, I'm not as well educated in how it all works and get confused with all the 5AR, DHT, Free ranging testosterone etc but any thoughts or comments on this question are greatly appreciated.
I have posted this question in Health and fitness following on from another subject but thought it might be useful to post it in here.
Thanks in advance.
