ok guys, all this talk about propecia giving you bit*ch tits and added fat is freakin me out.

I just got back from Italy and put on a few pounds...I want to lose like 20 lbs and become toned and hard...

You guys think a good diet and weight training will counter the effects of Propecia? I'm getting married in 7 months and I need to be rock hard...

but I don't want to get off Propecia and lose the wonderful hair I have...

holy sh*it, i'm freaking out here :freaked2:

Some folks have reported this to be so.

I did not get gyno but certainly since I quite finasteride, my pecs are a tad smaller and more toned in just 4 weeks.

you will not gain overall body fat JUST because of propecia, there's two ways drugs make you gain or lose weight, through blocking or over production of neurotransmitters (making you eat more and feel hungrier), or it increases estrogen.

propecia may cause a less than desirable ratio of DHT to estrogen, however, estrogen is only known to increase fat in the breast and waist section. even so, it's mainly in the chest and the ratio would have to be SO BAD if you went from being skinny to fat on the waste line. when it increases in your chest, you feel pain, lumps, and so on.

In any case, if your arms, legs, mid section, appendages are getting fat as well, it has nothing to do with propecia, you are just getting fatter.

Start eating correct food (no that doesn't mean go on a diet) and exercising aerobically for atleast 30 minutes at a minimum of 3 days a week. adding weight training will help your weightloss as well.

if you are lazy and don't feel like losing weight the right way and want a quick fix, i suggest a drug called "Phentermine", I've used it to get rid of some holiday fat I sometime gain and I have no side effects and it works great. It blocks the serotonine receptor sites which makes you less hungry and less tired.

propecia is not that powerful of a hormonal drug when you consider the amount of AR you produce to the amount it inhibits

Fat collects around the abdomen and upper torso first. Also, remember that you cannot spot reduce.

I'm a large advocate of fixing things in life. Don't blame anyone or anything but yourself for being a bit soft, even if it isn't your fault. Most people can't do that, and by proxy, most cannot sacrifice enough to get themselves where they want to be physically. It really is mind over matter when you're trying to break the mold of the average body.

Now for some real tips.

Diet: Stick to grilled chicken, fish, and vegetables. Don't eat a lot of bread or sugar. DO NOT drink soda.

Fat burning: Cardio activity for 30 minutes a day, three times a week minimum. No sport on Earth is sufficient for your needs here.

Weights: Focus more on form than on number of repititions. Do 3 sets on your normal weight and your last one slightly heavier. Do as many as you can on the heavier weight.

Push-ups and Pull-ups are shockingly underrated. They are both very effective. Incorporate them into your routine.

But most importantly, drop the beer. If you want something that will kill your testosterone levels and shoot your estrogen throuth the roof, beer will do it.
