If your insurance covers it (same price for either primary care or dermatology) you might as well go to the dermatologist and get their opinion... However a primary care physician is also able to order propecia.
You might save money by getting proscar 5mg and cutting them into 1/4, 1/4 pill each day. If you don't have insurance you will certainly save money by using proscar 5mg 1/4 tablet each day. Yah my next question was going to be about the proscar. I know its the same as propecia. My insurance company only charges me $16 for a month supply of a drug. And only $32 for a 3 month supply if I do mailorder. Unfortunately propecia isnt covered. Will most doctors prescribe proscar, or are they pretty strict about it?

strict? depends on your situation. try to convince him you really need it. and why on earth would you ask a newbie to take 1/4 of a proscar pill cornholio?...i would've said 1/5 if not 1/8..
