I apologize in advance if this post is hard to follow or unstructured, since I will make up theories and scenarios that might not be applicable to the real world, but this is something that I've been thinking about for a while that I would like some answers to. In this post I will just blindly follow that these treatments work as they have promised. The treatments efficacy or non-efficacy is NOT the subject of this post.
So,
Lets say that we isolate a patch of skin with an area that is big enough for 100 follicles. It has 100 "slots".
Follica said something about creating X terminals and Y vellus. Since I don't remember the exact numbers, I will determine them to be 50/50 for the sake of this post. So after using Follica on this patch of skin, I would get 50 terminals and 50 vellus.
These 50 terminals are all fine and dandy, but wouldn't these 50 vellus hairs be in the way if you'd like to do another treatment like a transplant/tsuji? Wouldn't they occupy a "slot"?
The next part of my question is similar, but for Replicel/Shiseido.
Since I am a diffuse thinner, some of my hair is thick and good and some of it is miniaturized and weak. So in this small patch, I might have 50 terminal and 50 weakened, again, at least for the purpose of this post. If Replicel/Shiseido completely halts the hairloss progress, I would still have these weakened hairs but the terminals wouldn't miniaturize. Wouldn't this leave me with basically the same outcome as above, with some miniaturized hairs that occupy space and a "slot"?
Of course all growth is welcomed with open hands, but this is something that I've been thinking about a lot. Maybe I have understood it all wrong. If so, please explain in a simple way how the differences between vellus and terminals actually function in the real world.
