See 3rd post for questions please.

I think i'm starting to thin, my hair has become overall less thick as it used to be, my hairline is still quite juvenile but my hair on teh crown (which has always been a bit weirdly thin considering the rest of my hair could only have been described as 'very thick' since I was a child-) has im pretty sure got thinner.
When I shower, I usually lose about 50 hairs (counted) Is this normal? During the day, I would say that I would lose no more then 30.
I'm just wondering how much hair people lose in the shower. I know it's normal to lose up to 100/day. BUT on the rare day it can get up to 80-100 (once a month) just from in the shower.

I know some members are really cynical and hate these kind of questions. But I really am concerned. Thank you very much.

Re: Hair Loss in Shower? Please Reply

The thing to look out for is if the shed rate has increased. If it has, then you might be worried. Or, it might be a good sign, depending on whether you're taking treatments or not.

If you've been losing that many hairs in the shower all your life, then it doesn't really mean anything. But when it comes down to it, you could notice just 8-10 lost hairs in the shower (like me) and still be losing your hair.

Nizoral, Miniturisation Questions Please

Ever since puberty I've noticed hair loss at about 50+ hairs. it's gone down over the last year or so. But now i'm noticing thinner hair, although most people laugh at me when i say that i'm balding. My hairdresser did not find it funny when she combed my hair bck and asked "what have you done to your hair!?!". yup.

Just so i know: Can nizoral really help? I'm not seeing many people state results about this one treatment. Ive read teh studies, is that all there is to go on?

And lastly, can miniturisation of the hair cause it to become less wavy? My hair is noticeably more straight then it ever used to be, and i've read before that finer hair usually can't hold a curl very well, so logically...

Also a change in hair colour, my hair has gone from very dark brown to slightly lighter shade of reddyish brown, some people think i dye my hair, i'm like wtf? Maybe because I don't exactly represent the most common phenotype from where i come from (india) having light eyes and skin.

I don't know. Im finding this all so confusing. I went to see my doctor who was so unbelievably unsympathetic and uninterested. he knows my father is bald and before he even looked at my hair told me i was losing my hair, not because it looks bad, but because he's just an idiot. he smirked at first when i said i think i'm losing my hair because eh didn't believe me. I think it's cos i'm what you guys call a 'diffuse'. Is this a common situation for fellow diffusers? For nobody else to know you're balding but only you?
