Hey guys,
Im about to start with finasteride + rogaine and I wanna know if any of the treatments can actually regrow something of my temples or its gone for good and the fina+rogaine are just to keep the hair that I still have..

Because im not sure if I wanna keep my hair in his current look.. I mean its ugly to have those bald spot at the corners of the hairline.. id rather go full bald.

What is your suggestion?

Some people have had a lot of success whilst being on Big three (regrowing temples). Is it possible? Yes. How likely is it? It depends on every person, no one can tell for sure.

If I were you, get on the treatments and time will tell for sure. If you never manage to regrow those temples, hair transplant might be an option for you.

Meds are for keeping the hair you have/ preventation. You could get lucky and be a hyper responder but this is incredibly rare. You can only expect a small amount of regrowth and thickening.

Once hair is gone, it’s normally gone for good.

I would save for a hair transplant but your hairline seems good for anyone over 35

What? Don't give up at 22. Maybe in your thirties/forties, yeah give up.

Please, try to regrow it first!

Worst case, it won't come back. However, remember you are still young enough
to get gains.

This is really true if it just started.

There is a first for everything, as for me. The complete opposite happened as my hair started like his after and ended up looking like his before after 2 years on Finasteride.

You probably have very aggressive balding genes.

Yes it is possible, but no one can predict how each individual will respond to the treatments.

My recommendation would be to get on finasteride and minoxidil for 6 months to 1 year, then reassess your situation. Too early to be thinking about a transplant as you don't know yet if you'll be a very good responder to medication. You're also young so if the hair there hasn't been gone too long there's a better chance of reviving it.

Don't listen to the people saying no one regrows hair on temples or bald spots....inaccurate information and plenty of success stories saying otherwise

Don’t spread inaccurate information just to give false hope. This is much more damaging in the long run.

The vast majority or people do not regrow significant amounts of hair on med. Those that do are very rare hyper responders.

Merk’s study on propecia shows less than a 5 percent chance of experienceing more than 10% of new growth. However men did stay above or at baseline so no additional hairloss.

https://www.merck.com/product/usa/pi_circulars/p/propecia/propecia_pi.pdf

The “anecdotal evidence” you quote is considered the least reliable info in statistics. For example you have many people out there claiming onion juice and castor oil regrows hair. However scientific studies have shown that this does not work .

Best advice for OP is to get on med to save his hair. Then get a transplant in his mid twenties

You can tell that guy in the photos is using concealer because of how dark his thin hair are. I don’t know why people post fake results

Nothing misleading about what I told him. He wants to know if temple regrowth is possible. I told him we can't know how he's going to respond to treatments but temple regrowth is possible(which IT IS). Transplant by his "mid-twenties" adds nothing to the conversation anyway as after a couple years on meds(he's 22 now) he will basically know if he needs one or not

People claiming things like onion juice and castor oil almost never post pictures, so it's not a good comparison to the finasteride, dutasteride, and minoxidil success stories we have with good before and after pics

@Obesecat has a bee in his bonnet about this, I think it’s just a manifestation of cope. Probably a result of his own disappointment with meds.

Regrowth with meds is unlikely. Merck’s own studies support this. Saying Or making it seem like OP will regrow his temples is irresponsible. It will create unrealistic expectations with op and others reading this.

The regrowth OP wants would be considered a rare exception not the norm. Op should get on meds but it’s better for him to be realistic

No, I actually think it’s just irresponsible to give people false hope. It will create unrealistic expectations in the OP and others reading this.

Significant regrowth >10% is incredibly rare. I site the study by Merc on propecia, in another post to support this. When Using meds of any type you should have realistic expectations.

That is a 1 in 100,000,000 case, to be fair. Finasteride is almost guaranteed to not do diddly dick for regrowth and will at best merely maintain for the majority of its users. The simple fact of the matter is finasteride is not that strong of an anti-androgen and only blocks ~60% of scalp DHT.

Should I buy 1mg finasteride pills and cut it to 4 pieces each pill like alot of people suggested me? They told me that 0.25mg=1mg when it comes to the dht blocking effect.

And should or should I not start the treatment with both fina+rogaine?
Should i start just with the pills and add the minoxodill later? When should I start the monixodil?

Hey mate. I personally think you should opt for finasteride first, and minoxidil once you've stabilised your hairloss.

I'm not sure wether you should cut it or not though, since I'm not personally using finasteride myself. But according what I know, 1mg should be your daily consumption (not completely sure once again)

Listen to other's advice aswell before u decide to make a decision.

1mg is the recommendation by merc and doctors for hair loss. I don’t know where people are getting.25mg from.
