I know this is very unscientific, however the purpose of this thread is to poll users on whether or not they are seeing hair regrowth while using dr. lee's formulated minoxidil. The different formulas he offers have me curious as to whether they are as sucessful as regular Rogaine-Formulated minoxidil.

So if you are using a Dr Lee Formulated solution please post these things:

Formula Used:
Results: Regrowth/Maintainence/None
How long ago did you start?
If you have seen results when did they start?
All hairloss treatments in your regimen:

I'll start:

Formula Used: PG-Free Xandrox PM, PG-Free minoxidil AM
Results: None
How long ago did you start? 6mo
If you have seen results when did they start? No results
All hairloss treatments in your regimen:
Propecia, spironolactone, Folligen, PG-Free minoxidil

I've used Dr. Lee's topicals but since I've used them with Kirland minoxidil I cant truly vouch for them.

I currently using Xandrox with retin-a but I dont think I'm going to continue with it after its finished.

I'll still get spironolactone and Nizoral from him but thats it.

I have been using his topicals for about 1 and a half months and I have to tell you that they work very well for me. I use Xandrox 15%, Xandrox 5%, spironolactone topical solution 2%, spironolactone 5% lotion, and his regrowth shampoo. I also use Folligen solution and Emu oil in conjunction with his products. I am not on any oral drugs( systematics) like finasteride. I won't take that unless I really need to. I have had success so far as thickening of hair and definit improvement on my frontal\temporal region. I am actually quite amazed. No I am not full of sh*t either. I never thought that they would work this fast. I would say that the Xandrox 15% is what has allowed me to grow so well. But of course I am also attacking the hairloss at many angles : DHT Blocker, Antiandrogens, Growth stimulators, SOD's, Anti Inflammatories. I am also on a good diet that is probably helping well with it too. And also taking vitamins and minerals. I'm very happy now. I have also not noticed any side effects either. I thought I would with the Xandrox 15%, but I didn't. I am surprised. :D :D :D :D :D

Kalika,
Were you using regular minoxidil 5% alone for any length of time prior to starting treatment with the xandrox 15%? If so for how long? Also, have you noticed any shedding with xandrox 15? Any improvements in the hairline? Also what kind of thinning and norwood pattern do you have?
Thanks

Fro, I did not use regular minoxidil before hand for anytime before that. I did use Revivogen for about 6 months though. It did give me pretty good results as far as stopping my hairloss. I did go through a good shedding phase while on Revivogen. That could explain why I am getting great results with my current treatment. I did go through a tid bit of shedding when I got on Dr. Lee's topicals though. Now I have very little hairloss. YES! My hairline has greatly improved. It has moved down probably about half an inch and the hairs there are getting much denser. My hair is much more manageable too. I would say that my hair is turning back close to norm as compared to the Norwood scale 2 that I did have. Yes I have been having great success. Believe it or not. As in a matter of fact I just got through ordering more products from Dr. Lee and they should arrive tomorrow sometime. I really hope that these results are going to continue for a long time. They should. I have confidence in that.
Any more questions? Please ask. :D :D :D

Formula Used: Xandrox 5% daytime, Xandrox 12.5% (discontinued because of...) Xandrox15
Results: None
How long ago did you start? 2 months
If you have seen results when did they start? two months in on Xandrox, still shedding, some slight vellous activity in temporal regions, nothing visible, continued slight recession
All hairloss treatments in your regimen:
Propecia, spironolactone 5%, Xandrox 5%, Xandrox15, soon to add Folligen

Currently I'm a Norwood 2, beginning at a natural hairline of a Norwood 1.25-1.5. Slight bi-temporal recession and frontal thinning, both of which have been aggressive since I first noticed hair loss in June 2003. Began Propecia one month later, then Xandrox in early November, first using a combo of 5% and 12.5%, then switching to 5% and 15% when I got my Xandrox15 last night. I also began spironolactone 5% at the end of December. Thus far, as I mentioned above, continued recession/frontal thinning from where I was 6 months ago, but I w/ only two months on Xandrox, I feel I have plenty of time (at least 4 months) until I render any substantial judgment.

BTW, I just turned 25.

Kalika -- thoughts on Folligen? Also, how far back on the hairline do you apply your spironolactone? Because I only have mild recession, I try to get 1/2" behind the hairline. I assume, like minoxidil, that this will diffuse to some degree once absorbed by the skin. Anyone?

Also Kalika, what is your frequency of spironolactone application? I do twice a day, morning and night, on top of the Xandrox application.

Thanks,

Cri$

Ludacri$, I think folligen is excellent. It is supposed to be a very good SOD and a good growth stimulator and of course a good anti-inflammatory. I use it at night. I apply the 2% spironolactone solution first, let it dry, then the 15% Xandrox, let it dry, then the folligen, let it dry, then the spironolactone 5% lotion on the hairline, let it set in for a while, then I add some emu oil to the already god awful mess. I sleep with a shower cap so I don't get the pillow case dirty. I actually apply spironolactone 3 times in one day. Once in the morning before the Xandrox 5%, then once when I get back home from work(about 3:30 pm), then another before bed. When I follow my night time regimine, I make sure to start about 2 hrs. before bedtime. It is the messiest of all my other applications. I definitely wouldn't want to go out in public with it on. And as far as the smell of 2% spironolactone solution goes, I really don't think it is that bad. My girlfriend doesn't even smell it unless I get super close. I've really been thinking about using the 5% spironolactone lotion for all my spironolactone applications and dropping the 2% since the 5% spironolactone is supposed to be more effective. I just think that the 2% spironolactone solution is a lot easier to apply to the denser parts of my scalp than the lotion version. I have a plan though. I could mix a very small amount of the 5% spironolactone lotion with 1ml of the xandrox and apply it as I would the 2% spironolactone. But I'll still apply the 5% spironolactone lotion to the hairline though. It will stay on the hairline better when it is in lotion form versus a liquid version. I try to apply the lotion about a half inch behind the thinner parts of my hairline. I also use the regrowth treatment shampoo every other day. You're probably wondering why I use the 2% spironolactone so often(3 times a day). Well the 2% spironolactone doesn't have quite the life versus the 5% lotion.
I'm not sure how long the life of 5% lotion is but I believe it is a bit longer than the 2% spironolactone solution. According to Dr. Lee anyway. Any more questions? :D :D :D :D :D
