Revita - Scared but holding on

I started using Revita on 2/25/07, so it's been about three months. My hair has thinned quite a bit through slow shedding and I have to admit that it's troubling me.

I did a bit of searching and the telogen phase of the hair cycle lasts 2-4 months. My question - What is the effect of a product like Revita in terms of which cycle your hair is in? Do you shed your hair as in the telogen phase and then have a 2-4 month period before the hair starts growing? I've not seen any new hair growth.

I've seen other "I'm scared, should I continue using product X" posts with a number of newbie replies screaming "stop using the product!!!!" But, what do those in-the-know have to say?

SO, PLEASE, do not reply "stop using the product" unless you're speaking from experience. I already have enough trouble resisting my panicked urges to do so.

Im in the same situation. My hair wasnt even all that bad when I started using revita thinking maintainace. But now after about 1.5 months its much worse. I keep telling myself it will get better. But will it?

I'm in the same boat...hair has thinned out big time.

Lol, I'm in the same boat too. And I'm wondering how long a shed has takes to start growing out.

At least we can say with some certainty it's doing something.

I think a shed lasts anywhere from 2- 4 months, just like a hair cycle....I could be wrong though.

I've read posts on a couple of sites that say a shed is a good thing, it means the treatment is working...so I'm bitting my lip and sticking with it, I must admit it's a bit unnerving though

Lets be honest, revita shouldn't really be doing this should it. I started shedding more so I use it every two or three days. I'm a bit concerned about whether this really could be a good sign to say the least.

reading all these posts makes me glad I decided to wait a few months before using revita...I guess ill stick with nizoral.

It's hard to tell what spurred my latest shed...DNC, Revita, spring time? All I know is I've read alot of posts from people (25+) that seem to THINK Revita is the cause.

Well, maybe I'll make a call to Divine Skin who as I recall make this product.

I am glad I'm not alone, but that still doesn't stop our hairloss, does it?

Edit: Can our well informed moderator answer my questions about the hair phases with respect to hair treatments like Revita, please.

Why not? Everyone one is here to help. I picked up copule good tips from Cassin when it comes to applying the foam.

As long as the opinion is postive, it should be welcome. Being a moderate or not should have nothing to do with this.

btw I doubt they are any doctors here... most doctors I know do not give a damn about their hair loss.

I completely agree with Cassin.

I am not sure why people have been looking at Revita as though it was some promising hair loss treatment.

Unless your hair loss is extremely non-aggressive, Revita alone probably won't do jack!

Sure it has a lot of ingredients that are thought to be good for hair but it is a f*cking shampoo guys!!!!

Revita imo, is not a stand alone treatment. This is an add on treatment that at best helps minimally.

IF ONLY IF IT WERE THAT EASY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can tell you only my experience. I tried Ket-Shampoo for two different times (each time about 2-3 weeks). Both times my itching got stronger and I lost more hairs during showering. So I stopped it.

I am going to try REvita, maybe the additional ingredients make it softer than the other shampoos, but if I see any worsening again I am gonna stop. In the end it is just a shampoo.

I think that basically, us guys using revita, we shouldnt be using it any more than we would be using nizoral, so about 3 times a week. Also, although I don't think anyone is, noone should be using it as a stand-alone treatment. Until we see someone that had *amazing* regrowth (proved with pictures) from it, using revita every day probably just isn't worth the risk.

Taugenichts & chino20, thanks for the feedback. I did not use Revita today for the first time since I began. I am going to use it 2-3 times per week now for the anti-DHT properties. I just hope that the hair that I've lost will come back.

One would think that Revita would not KILL good hair, even if it made it fall out.

I cannot use minoxidil because of systemic effects, and am too scared of propecia etc. due to sexual side effects. Maybe a NANO-based product next?

It was a completely unbacked-up opinion from a layman who is basing his opinion on nothing other than a gut feel. And it wasn't a positive comment.

Not to mention my bottle of Revita (now 35 bucks) is probably going to last me 6 months.
