Hey everyone. I haven't looked at this forum in about six or seven months, which is about a month after I started using Revivogen. I think I'm an oddball, in that my regimen is strictly Revivogen with nothing else, and I thought that might make my opinion interesting to some people. I do use the basic off-the-shelf Nizoral once a week, but I always have for dandruff.
So, basically, some time in August I admitted to myself that I was losing my hair. I'm in my mid-twenties, and I'm not really sure how long I've been losing my hair. I was a bit of a slob, and still am a bit. Basically, I haven't combed my hair in years, and for a long while, before starting Revivogen, I didn't wash my hair every day. So I wasn't really carefully watching how my hair was growing. I do have noticable hairloss, but it's not really bad. I'd say the thinning on the back of my head is not very noticable, but the receded hairline is. It's not greatly receded though. Maybe an inch and a bit at the temples. If I combed my hair back, it would be plainly obvious.
Anyways, I've been using Revivogen since early September, so that puts me at about seven and a half months of use. I never took a baseline photo, and probably won't be taking any photos because I do not own a digital camera, or even a regular camera.
I'm not sure that the Revivogen is working for me, but I'm going to stick with it for quite a while longer, just to make sure. I know everyone is going to tell me to get on finasteride right away, but please don't, because I'm not interested.
Anyway, my experience so far is that I have lost some of my hairline while using Revivogen, but the rate of loss seems to be very slow, so my hairline has not changed very much since August. The rest of my hair seems to be roughly the same as it was before. I think Revivogen is maintaining my hair, somewhat, and I hope if I use it for a year or maybe more, it will be even more effective. I'm pretty comfortable with the way my hair looks now. There was a time between my first batch running out and buying my second batch that I didn't use it for about five days, and maybe I'm just paranoid, but it seemed like I was losing more hair while brushing after taking the time off Revivogen.
Some complaints I have with the product. I seem to get acne on my scalp. I get it on the back of my head, which is not visible because I still have a considerable amount of hair there. Another complaint is it feels fine on my scalp, but if I get any on my forehead it seems to burn, which I reall y don't like. The stuff seems very potent. I keep it stored in the fridge, with a dropper stored in a drawer in the bathroom. I wash the dropper after applying, so it's only in contact with the stuff for ten seconds a day. Yet, the markings on the dropper have still faded away. My only other complaint is that it leaves your hair pretty greasy, and it smells a bit, so if you have to share your bed with someone, they might not like it very much (I apply before going to sleep).
Any other Revivogen users have tips on applying? I use 1.5 mL a day, covering my hairline all the way to the back of my head, in the typical bald-spot area. I apply and massage the stuff for a good 15 seconds. Is there such a thing as too much Revivogen?
If you are deathly afraid of losing your hair, I wouldn't recommend this stuff, because I'm not really sure if it's working or not. It's definitely not regrowing hair, just maintaining. If you aren't interested in taking finasteride, this stuff might be worth a shot for you, depending on how badly you want to stop your hairloss, because I won't guarantee it will work. Personally, if my hair goes, that's life and I'll deal with it. I've known people with heart problems, cancer, alcoholic parents and all kinds of unpleasant things, so I feel more than a bit guilty spending time worrying about something so trivial as hair.
