Rogaine Foam Advise for Difffuse Thinning and Hairline?

I just started Rogaine Foam and Nizoral shampoo today. I used a bit more than half a cap full. I basically have a diffuse thinning on the top of my head and a Norwood 2.5 hairline. I want to use it for both.

Any advice on if I should use more than half a cap full or if this is dangerous please advise. If I can maintain for more time I would be thankful.

Thanks again,

What many people do is use Rogaine foam in the morning and then liquid form at night. Why?

1) Since foam is currently more expensive, using a generic liquid at night helps cut costs. (There are also generic foam versions out now too!)
2) Foam dries MUCH more quickly and is therefore great for morning applications.

I do not think that using a little more than the recommended amount of foam is harmful. I am also a diffuse thinner, so I also need to use more than the recommended amount. In some cases, people who have long hair are in the same predicament because they are unable to apply directly to the scalp.

The main thing to note is that Rogaine and other manufacturers recommend that amount because they want to sell more formula. Also, from what they can tell, using more formula on an area that already has been treated does not seem to help much.

So, in summary, yes, you should be fine using it for diffuse thinning and hairline. You may also want to look into generic foam/liquid as a means to save money.

Thanks for the response. I am hoping to maintain with just rogaine but not sure if that will work. I tried propecia and revivogan and got brainfog from each one

Stick with rogaine and it should work. Your existing hair will be thicker and darker (better coverage) and will also grow faster in the coming months. It can take up to a year to really see the results of regrowth. I'm in the same boat as you, i'd be happy just keeping what i have! I'm at month 5 with foam and i can tell you my hair looks healthy and not like 6 months ago when every single hair on my scalp seems like they were being miniaturized...

Anyone get good results from once a day use? my face is starting to look puffy and nasty and I want to cut back and see if that works.

I understand that Rogaine dries fast. do I need to shave my head to use rogaine? Otherwise I image it will just stay on the hair. Will it work if the foam is applied on the hair?

It needs to be absorbed by the scalp, adding to the hair will not give you the desired result.
