As I mentioned in previous posts, I'm one of those guys with complicated hair that requires a lot of styling (blow dry/flat iron long pieces/texture paste/hairspray -- yes I know, I know). I picked up some Rogaine foam last week but have yet to try it because I have yet to figure out a really good way of applying it before/after/during styling.
I wash my hair every day, and always have, because it's thin enough that 24 hours of natural hair oil makes it look completely dirty. Having said that, here is my proposed styling regimen, and just wanted some feedback on whether it would have any negative impact on the effects of the rogaine. Blow drying is part of how I have to style my hair so it's kinda hard to work that in. Before I change my hair style to accommodate treatment I wanted to run this by everyone:
1. Wash / condition hair (Nizoral 1%, Nioxin system 3)
2. Blow dry (hair is long in front, short on sides/back)
3. Separate hair into rows, apply Rogaine foam to entire thinning area of scalp (entire top of my head), spreading to actual hair as little as possible, wait to dry
4. Re-dampen hair <-- This is where I'm curious. I think adding Rogaine will sort of flatten my hair a bit and I may need to re-damped and blow dry a little bit, but will this rinse the rogaine away? I use a spray bottle mister with distilled water.
5. Flat iron / texture paste / hair spray
At night I would probably have to re-wash my hair before applying more Rogaine, due to the styling products. Thoughts?
Thanks...
