Hi-

I am just getting started with trying to fight my hair loss. I'm 33 years old, and have had a slowly receding hairline for about 10 years, but when I recently noticed thinning at the vertex, decided to take action.

I would like to solicit suggestions on my treatment plan. I got a big box in the mail yesterday, but don't know when to do what. spironolactone before tricomin? Rogaine before revivogen? Do any of these products inhibit the absorption of the others (e.g., will greasy S5 cream make the rogaine foam slide right off)? How often for each? etc.

Here is what I have available:

  • Rogaine Foam
    Tricomin treatment, shampoo & conditioner
    Rivivogen treatment, shampoo & conditioner
    S5 spironolactone cream
    Nizoral shampoo
Other: emu oil, beta-sitosterol, saw palmetto

I may also buy a laser comb, and next time I'm at the doctor will ask about going on Finasteride.

I have one opportunity for application in the morning (7 am), and have four hours in the evening (7-11 pm) during which I can put stuff in. Here's what I'm thinking, but would like your input. (It would be nice to combine applications, where feasible.)

Morning:
  • Shower, 3-day rotation between nizoral, tricomin sh/cond, rivivogen sh/cond
    S5 spironolactone cream
    Rogaine foam
    450 mg Saw Palmetto + 180 mg beta-sitosterol

Evening
  • 7 pm - S5 spironolactone cream and 450 mg Saw Palmetto + 180 mg beta-sitosterol
    8 pm - Tricomin treatment
    9 pm - Revivogen treatment
    10 pm - Rogaine foam

Thanks for your suggestions!

Also, a big thanks to everyone on this forum - the experience you have shared has really helped me a lot as I finally try to take action against my hair loss. Your detailed and thoughtful analyses of the products that are available, and stories of success, have given me hope and have probably saved me thousands of dollars by avoiding products that don't work.

Everything in that routine except the rogaine is probably a waste of money, and yeah you're at risk of just starting a routine you can't maintain.

Also yep, ask your Doctor and get on finasteride asap.

Big 2 for the win, ditch the other rubbish.
