Seeking advice from RU58841 users

I'm considering using RU as I'm currently using the big 3 and they're not doing too well on my hairline. Sorry if these questions have been answered in the past but I think it would be really useful to have a thread tackling some FAQs regarding RU.

I have a few queries:

- Is preparing your own RU definitely more effective than buying pre-prepared solutions? Preparing your own does not seem like a discrete process and I'm not keen for my housemates to interfere.

- What is the best vehicle to mix RU in? I've read the complete RU58841 usage guide and it recommends a mix of ethanol and PG. However, I saw somewhere else that minoxidil might work. Alternatively, K&B solution?

- I'm only interested in applying it on my hairline so how many mg RU/ ml solution should I use daily?

- Which site is most trustworthy for purchasing RU? Kane, anagen, ru-solutions?

I'm really keen to get some answers as I'm sure other forum members are also curious.

Preparing your own is generally considered to be the better route by most. minoxidil is not as good, the minoxidil solution is already pretty saturated and the RU will have difficulty dissolving in it. Apply to entire balding area, if you are applying to like a nw3 area up than 1ml is fine at 3% or 4% solution (so 1ml with 30mg-40mg) 1/3rd PG 2/3rds Alcohol/ethanol

P.s. By your logic I'm presuming there are 1000mg's in a ml, which I was not aware of.

No, never use more than 100mg. RU has potential sides that effect the heart. I only use 60mg daily in 1.5-2ml for a nw6-nw7 area. If you are only doing your hair line 40ml is probably fine. K&B is kane vehicle right? I think it is better to make your own vehicle. It is hard to tell though because there isn't exactly a whole lot of info about RU or what works best anywhere

yes they both work in totally differen ways one is not a substitute for the other

There's never been a study between RU in Ethanol/PG vs KB Solution. You'll never really know. However, with Ethanol/PG done on your own, you at least have control over the concentrations of each.

Ethanol/PG is the standard and always works. Use that. RU in minoxidil is no good as it contains water and will render RU useless. Don't do it. KB solution

In my opinion, enough so that it covers your desired areas at a high enough concentration. Jumping from 100 or to 300mg/1ml won't make a difference i dont think because once you block DHT at that level there's not much else you can do no matter what the concentration. DHT inhibitors only to so much. It'd be like consuming 100mg of Finasteride vs 1mg. Once its blocked, you've already done all you can.

Kane and Anagen are sister sites. The same guy runs both sites. I buy my RU from Kane.

I only started using it 4 weeks ago so I can not give comment on how well it is working, I am also using dutasteride as well have been on that for 7 weeks. It comes in a white powder (a 160 day supply is very very small amount). The hardest part is not wasting any. The stuff kind of smells

Hellouser people use KB which has tons of water in it. Water does not render RU useless.

How old are you and what is your fight as it stands with hair loss? (norwood?)

19 years old. My hair line is great, but my crown is very poor. Here is a pic. I started all this stuff because I think I have excellent potential for regrowth, early age, crown thinning, etc. On the crown there are thousands of villous hairs similar to density of normal hairs (in other words there are almost no completely dead hairs on my scalp even in areas that look totally bald)

My father has juvenile hair line, as well as all my uncles. All of both my grandmothers siblings and my maternal grandfather have juvenile hair lines. My other grandfather is a nw3. Besides my paternal grandfather's side there isn't so much as a nw2 in the whole family. I would certainly be totally bald nw6-nw7 by the time I reach 23 or 24. I have never taken steroids so that is not the cause of my unusual hair loss.

I think if I have success it will put the "some people's hair loss is too aggressive for [insert any med here]" as I think it is impossible to lose hair faster than I was losing it before I started treatments. I could not lay my head down on my pillow without multiple hairs sticking in my mouth/lips or scratching my face and nose. I plan on posting a 2 year results thread

Probably not. The best vehicle is the stronger alcohol. That stuff is 5% less in alcohol concentration. Just get the gold standard.
