and it happened,... http://twitter.com/shitmydadsays just landed a TV deal with CBS to develop a series. Justin the "son" will write it with "Will and Grace" creators.

I know it will loose lots of it's punch when translating the tweeter creation to big network TV format; just hope they don't water the thing down too much and f*** it up...... which will probably end up happening.

Words around this guy came up with the "Dad" idea as an excuse and vehicle for his own writing career...... ( I agree with this myself ). This can turn out to be a brilliant rumor to buzz the sitcom series and book deal.

CBS signed the deal with the son (Jason) and not the "Dad" (according to the press I've read). This makes me think CBS and the people putting together the deal do know for a fact who creates the material.

A Twitter user who runs the account "ShitMyDadSays" has just landed a deal to take his Tweets to TV.

CBS has decided to create a comedy project based on the Twitter account, which is run by 28-year-old Justin Halpern.

Halpern moved back in with his parents in San Diego and started the account shortly after. "ShitMyDadSays" is pretty much what it sounds like: it consists of Halpern Tweeting out the funny, off-color, and usually profane things that his 73-year-old dad says.

The quotes are hilarious, offensive, uncensored, and uncut. ShitMyDadSays was ranked one of the 10 funniest Twitterers on the web. Read the Tweets below!

"ShitMyDadSays" has over 700,000 followers and, in addition to the CBS deal, recently landed a book contract.

The Live Feed reports:

"Will & Grace" creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick are on board to executive produce and supervise the writing for the multicamera family comedy, which Halpern will co-pen with Patrick Schumacker. Halpern and Schumacker will also co-exec produce the Warner Bros. TV-produced project, which has received a script commitment.
