I'm 22, and stopped Rogaine last month. I stopped because I thought it was making it worse, but now I'm afraid it's worse now that I'm not using it. Can this get better?

Here's a gallery comparing today to one month ago, (First two from today, third from last month) http://imgur.com/a/Iltyt

and here's one comparing today to seven months ago. (First from today, second from March) http://imgur.com/a/VEsSV

Is this fixable?

Go get a mirror and take a good, hard look at your face - does it look bloated, old and/or haggard to you? Try playing around with your nose and ears, you'll notice they're now suddenly weaker, more flexible, more pliable than they used to be. The skin on your face will also be unusually elastic as will most of the rest of it all over your body. The soles of your feet will no longer be calloused, all that firm skin will have softened. Check your dick, you'll notice it's shrunk about an inch since you started minoxidil. The foreskin will also have an 'aged' appearance. Cry for 10 minutes then throw that rat poison called Rogaine away and get on with your life. It's not a safe drug.

How is it not safe? it is FDA approved...

Regrettably, FDA-approval does not mean a drug is safe. The FDA is only human and they miss things all the time. As I've said on another thread, just Google 'minoxidil aged face' or 'minoxidil skin damage', then have a look at some scientific journals - there's plenty of hard evidence that it inhibits collagen production, damages skin cells and has even been known to spark off a full-blown disfigurement known as 'pseudo-acromelagy'. By all means give it a try, but monitor your face and skin closely. If you see any signs of trouble, pores bloating, skin sagging etc. drop it and never look back.

FDA = Federal Death Association in my book. You can't trust anything they say. They allow fluoride, chlorine, and lead in our drinking water. I would be careful with that. Try taking a multivitamin for hair health. You are young enough to easily reverse it if it is not hereditary.

exactly, FDA are scumbags and this has been proven time and time again by teaming up with cooperations like monsanto.

I am on finasteride but I will never touch rogaine given it is a known side effect that it fucks your skin up, which is counter productive to the whole maintaining aesthetics by fighting hairloss.

From those pictures it actually looks better now than last month. However in my (unpopular) opinion pictures can be deceiving, for example - a few weeks ago I took a picture of my hairline where it looked pretty good with a solid "U" shape then took another just a few hours later in the same lighting and it looked much further receded with more of a "V" shape. Either way it wouldn't have changed significantly within a month. They say if you were taking finasteride for a while and then quit, it could take up to 9 months to lose the hair that you gained/maintained from taking it, could be the same with minoxidill

Go get a mirror and take a good, hard look at your balls - do they look bloated, old and/or haggard to you? Try playing around with your left and right ball, you'll notice they're now suddenly weaker, more flexible, more pliable than they used to be. The skin on your balls will also be unusually elastic as will most of the rest of it all over your body. The soles of your feet will no longer be calloused, all that firm skin will have softened. Check your dick, you'll notice it's grown about an inch since you started minoxidil.

There's no need to be a dick about this @davesmith420 & @shookwun . As I've said, you guys are perfectly entitled not to believe me, that's fine, I get it. But I will continue to warn others about my experience with the drug. Mainly because I wish someone had done the same for me. The side effects from it ruined my life, if that's a joke to you guys, again that's fine, but it's not a very funny one.

Lol this is the last thing all the paranoid lurkers on here need to read...many of them already too frightened to take the most effective treatment we have, and now they need to worry about minoxidil shrinking their dicks? Smh

ORAL minoxidil blocks colleges synthesis. Not topical. Get back on it

As a long time user and advocate of topical minoxidil (check my post history if you don't believe me) I can assure you that the skin damage is all too real. I have recently quit for this reason, and although my hairline is shedding and thinning rapidly, I feel much happier because my skin looks amazing once again.

I've been overdosing rogaine twice a day for over a year without a single
Missed application. No changes at all to my skin. I started applying Retinol A and my skin has looked great. Go google what the nocebo effect is.

no disrespect DBW but i think some poster overworry about minoxdil. The dose which cause collgen damage were freaking high.
Moreover if you get wrinkle on your forehead it is because of frowning and sun damage , much more than minoxidil.

Nocebo is based on a person anticipating a side effect. I was unaware of any skin related complaints prior to discovering the stuff was making my skin look bad.
