Hey

I'm 24 and of south Asian descent and have recently started worrying about balding. I'm not balding atm, but my Dad has a big bald batch (though he's 64 now, think he started balding when he's 50). My mom's side, there's no history. I've become really anxious though, I'm scared of losing it and obssess over it most days.

I'd like to finish university and settle down before I lose my hair ideally. Just wondering if I should worry about balding, I mean I wouldn't mind as much if I went bald when I was 50, but going bald in my twenties would bother me. I don't know whether I'm stupid for worrying.

Does the age of your father (or maternal grandfather) when he went bald usually correspond to when you go bald?

A question to those who are going bald, when did your father and/or maternal grandfather start going bald?

NO ! Because you are not balding yet. Plus you said your dad didn't start balding till 50 witch is a good sign, I started thinning at 16 receding at 17 NW2 and now at 19 my hair loss is getting worse. I have my dads genetics. NO NEED TO WORRY ! Your fine.

How quickly does it usually worsen after you start (i.e. how much time when you start balding until it's visibly noticeable/people would start thinking it would be good to shave your head).

It depends, A few years maybe, There is this guy on YouTube was 21 when he started balding and by the end of the time lapse he was bald (24) so it took him maybe 4 years to go completely bald and that is the extreme case.
