He told me to start using rogaine for a couple of months and if it doesnt work out he can get me on propecia. I'm just scared of the fact that if i use rogaine for a couple months and then stop ill lose a lot of hair. Oh well guess i gotta take a chance....

rogain without finasteride will do nothing for your hair loss.

You won’t see results from Rogaine in two months. If it works it takes longer to see results, at least four months, and sometimes even a year.

If you discontinue use of Rogaine, you will stop growing new hair and will lose the hair that you did grow while on the treatment.

You need to try rogaine for 4-6 months to know if it is really working. Take an anti-androgen like finasteride first, then try rogaine.

mine did the same thing... but it was only about 10 days because minoxidil just irritated the hell out of my scalp, and increased loss like no other

still though, rogain is not really "treating" male pattern baldness

rogaine will thicken your existing hair and perhaps give u one or two new ones and give u a false sense that your hair loss is decreasing, when in reality, it is doing NOTHING for it. u need finasteride, dutasteride or a VERY good topical combo!

rogaine is great to take on the side but if you really want to combat male pattern baldness it's foolish to think that will be enough.
