Some Hair Piece Questions From Experienced Wearers?

I have a few questions I'd like to ask that I've been a little uncertain with in regards to wearing a hair system, especially as I am still pretty new...

Okay,

Is have too much of a straight hairline, or full hair always a dead give away? I don't mean unrealistically dense, but just generally what a full head of hair would look like with no hair loss or balding? I am in my 20s and I am wondering if it's that out of the norm to see such a thing, or if it would look strange/odd on anyone who is not a teenager.

Another question, is it noticeable if someone's hair is a slightly thinner at the bottom or sides? the hair piece I have now is a stock and it's still kind of on the thick end, but my hair is on the fine side, but it's not especially thin (that shows and is my own) but I had some a few people in public who pointed it out a bunch of times, or laughed at me and made a big deal about it. Somebody said something about 'extensions' and how they should get extensions for the lower/bottom part of heir hair. A couple people would look at my hair suspiciously or laugh and I heard someone say once "I think it's a wig!" which was pretty horrible I think. I've posed pictures and I don't think it's that noticeable. I've spent lots of time researching and studying hair and how to make one look realistic but yet still all of these weird reactions. It was in a specific place and I think they were just rude people.

Is this common in some places, if your hair is too nice/full they'll mock you and say it's a wig or something? I have a graduated hairline and everything had a proper cut in.

Could it just be hair type? my dad had thick black curly hair, and he was for the most part "white" (since the system I have is not european hair) plus I am bi-racial anyway, and I don't think it looks that startling on me. I don't have particularly dark skin, but my complexion is light olive and my skin turns brown quite easily and as well my hair color is dark brown/next to black . When I was younger, before my hair started thinning, my hair was dense all over and I did not show very much scalp at all.

This is the newest and less dense one.

The first one I had where I had people saying those above comments on. (one young woman said I had "nice hair" though...)

Okay, here is some more just for the sake of it...

This was my hair before, it was quite full and it's almost the same, I think the individual strands just weren't quite as thick but it was around the same density.

This is at the back in combination with my natural hair, which in feeling it, is almost the same density and thickness, my own hair is just slightly thinner...

Just another one where, it sort of does look kind of off to me, like it's too dense, but it has product in it.

Did the people who pointed out your hair knew what you looked like before the system? Obviously if you walked in one day with a head full of hair while before you were +NW4 people would have their suspicions. Either way it's a pretty shitty thing to do.

Your pics are blurry, so it's hard to tell if there's a color mismatch between your system and bio hair, after a lack of blending, it's one of the biggest giveaways.

In your case since you kept your hair long and messy, blending shouldn't really be an issue so I am willing to bet it's either the color and/or the fact people knew your hair troubles before the system. Also I hope you condition and brush your system hair as if you lay it all flat and dry it definitely looks wiggy (again hard to tell).

No it actually is the same exact color of my hair and others have recognized this as well. Your last sentence looks mispelled in some way, are you saying that it looks wiggy in the photos because it looks flat? How should one style it then and what works best with it? and also, is leaving it dry that big of a deal? I do condition it all of the time, but I like to leave it dry looking sometimes. My hair was often on the dry side a little before and I've known plenty of people who have hair that's a little dry. Is there sort of a natural level of hair hydration that one should make their piece resemble? because I just know there's a difference between having the gelled look, and then having your hair properly hydrated. In the pictures I've shown, they do not give a "thick wall of hair" look, do they?

Oh and they did not know me in real life before, that's why I was sort of surprised. It was kind of a weird place though, I found it was not very friendly or welcoming to people. Is it that easy to tell if someone is wearing a hair piece? I was trying to find comparisons to try and work with and Jared Leto's hair here is kind of similar in style and density/thickness is it not? (I personally don't see that big of of a difference between the hair *shrugs*

No, a full hairline and a full head of hair are not giveaways - they are the norm for 20 year old guys. My impression from your photos is that your hairpiece looks very good from the front, but oddly disconnected from the side, as if the hairpiece has just been set on top of your real hair without any attempt to blend the two together. I think that is what has tipped people that it is not all real. I can see why they mentioned extensions, because it actually looks more like bulky poorly-integrated extensions than a hairpiece. The cure is a better haircut. Where are you getting your pieces cut in at the minute? I think you could get this sorted really quickly and it would look excellent.

Yes, sort of dome thing of sort perhaps? I just get them at hairdresser I find who say they are experienced or what have you. It's really ridiculous, but I've been having a really hard time finding anyone who feels comfortable or does not have any hang ups regarding hair pieces. And also, they don't feel comfortable, or know very much about cutting them.

A problem though is my sides are a bit thinner then the rest of my hair, and the thickness of the hair does not match as well compared to the back and it's more of a give away, so I wonder if there's anyway to work around that...I don't want to really get stuck with a slicked back and buzzed sides look either as the only hair style I can wear as well. I suppose giving details on the gist of cutting the sides and it would help if I can find an open minded hair dresser.

I thought most peoples hair hangs over the side from the top of where it grows though, what's so strange about that? is it just too flat?

I don't want to sound impatient, but...

As far as unpredictability, is there kind of a vague unspoken spectrum we are talking about? I mean is this an 80% or much less? like 40%

Is it just too rounded looking? (the hair itself?) is there some kind of biased dislike for this type of hairstyle, or hair length? because again I don't think it's perfect looking, but I don't think it's completely detectable, is it? Does anyone think that perhaps the reactions were just guesses? It's not at the point where you can tell for certain, be sure is it? full hair does kind of go like that...

(my hair was sort of like this thickness before, it was not thin, but it was not very thick either, kind of on the thin side) http://hairstylesmen101.com/wp-cont...g-hairstyles-for-men-mens-long-hairstyles.jpg

Your personal pictures look alright nothing that would scream wiggy but what I meant is if you don't style the system hair (system bed hair woes anyone?) regularly it can look off. At the same time your pics are not particularly clear. What are you HS specs?

If those people did not know you before than something is definitely not right, like what @Noah suggested double check the blending of your own hair and system, the system sides should be "feathered".

Did a stylist cut your hair?

Problem is with all the photos your linking the hair is very well styled and cut, your hair is more messy, yes, the messy long hair is a style you see often in real life but in your case If you were to properly clean up the hair a bit (like from the linked celeb pictures) it would look a lot better.

Edit: Another thing to check for is the lace, if you part your hair exactly in the middle from front to back then make sure the front is glued or use 3mm tape (basically ensure the hairline does not 'shine' and is well attached without any ridges)
