hey guys,

Im started eating soy for 2 weeks because im a veg right now (my grandfather on the mother side was a soy addic with nw1 like my uncles). My hair loss reduced... the amount of stranding hairs are less daily. Ive a receded hairline and Telogen Effluvium. At least that was what i thought (Telogen Effluvium). Im also more tired and light headed, but okay.

i dont believe in bull**** that soy can stop hairloss and im going on finasteride in 4/6 weeks.. but i just wanted to mention it.

what u think guysss?

I did actually read something about soy stopping hair loss...
Probably just BS as usual, but hey try going on a insane soy diet. See what happens.

Yep, Soy contains amounts of natural Estrogen (female-hormone) which reduces Hair Loss, but you'd experience side effects if you insanely rise your intake!

hairline is an area with most DHT serum levels and Soy's Estrogen ability to inhibit DHT is weaker than enough. Even Finasteride wouldn't be enough in most cases. But trying won't hurt!

You wouldn't experience major side effects (because Soy doesn't have that much amount of Estrogen) if your intake doesn't rise to the *insane* level, but the sides would be Decreased Libido, Erectile Dysfunction, Foggy Brain (or lightheadedness as you mentioned), Tiredness in Male (due to decreased levels of Testosterone), Increased Platelet factors (might increases the risk of heart attacks but not THAT much..), Increased Cortisol (read Stress!) and Feminine Characteristics in Male (mentally!)

jasper do yourself and all of us a favor and take blood tests pre-finasteride. Trust me you might regret not doing that, full hormonal profile + DHT.

thing is soy affects your hormones too, so ideally you want to also seperate between pre and post soy diet but that's ok...

I wanted to do this and I talked to my doctor about getting blood work to get my baseline Test, DHT, and estrogen levels but the bastard wouldn't do it. Tried to make me pay and said it would be "several hundred dollars". How much exactly doctor? "Several hundred". I'm in Canada mind you so maybe its different in the US and other countries, but I have a conspiracy regarding this. Merk has specifically made it clear to doctors not to hand out free bloodwork before going on Finasteride because it would give more evidence with regards to side effects and work against them in the ongoing lawsuit (I've only read about a lawsuit going on through message boards and haven't actually looked into it so correct me if I'm wrong here).

i thought the only thing that can play a role about soy is to be transformed into s-equol in the gut
