I’m spending about $90 for a bottle of Propecia. I’ve asked numerous Docs to proscribe me Proscar, but they wont give.

I live in New Jersey, what are my other options?

I have a credit card. Do you know a reliable place? Do I need a prescription?

Don't be like these cheapskates, buy Proscar. I used to buy my drugs from elite net pharmacy.com (no spaces) although I don't know how their prices compare.

These guys must really be poor otherwise they have no respect for the money that goes into developing drugs and then putting them through trials. Finpecia is made by some Indian drug maker who ignores the patent Merck has, because in India it's legal to do that.

My advice: Buy Proscar and 1/4 the pills. That will give you approx. 1.25 mg of finasteride per pill.

These "cheapskates" would rather spend the majority of their hard earned on other things. Cipla is world renowned, and they don't "ignore" the patent...they are perfectly entitled to create finasteride through their own processes.

Yes...those damn Indians and their inferior finasteride.

ALL BOW DOWN TO MERCK! USA! USA! USA! USA!

I forgot, finasteride has come off of patent. My mistake.

Indian drug companies do ignore patents, though. It is legal to do that in India. They did it with finasteride before it came off patent.

I already spend a fortune on foam, if it wasnt for proscar i would be seriously broke. THe differences in long term cost between Proscar and Propecia is just phenominal. Dont know why anyone would go on propecia, its like 5 times the price for the exact same medication.

To the OP your doctor is a moron. Just goto another GP who has half a brain and will realise its the exact same medication, or just get it off the net.

My guess would be that some docs won't prescribe Proscar because they figure the patient will use a medical plan to get it, whereas a medical plan will not cover Propecia.

uh no....hell prsocribe proscar for hair loss...not for bph....your insurance wont cover it unless he he writes it for bph, which he wont cuz thats insurance fraud and he could lose his license or be fined.

The prescription was just 5mg of finasteride for 1x daily. The Dr. is aware that I am quartering the dose for male pattern baldness. So technically it is insurance fraud. Though my insurance my actually cover 1mg finasteride, at least partially.
