Starting Rogaine and Nizoral next week, what should I expect?

Hi guys, I'm 16 and currently a NW2 with a hairline similar to Ewan McGregor's, but with slightly less receded temples. No family history of agressive male pattern baldness. My uncles from my mother's family have had their hairline become NW2.5s or NW3s in their 20s, and then started to slowly recede further and thin on top in their 50s. My uncles from my father's family all have NW3 or NW2.5 hairlines, but have had the same hairlines since their 30s or 20s. My dad's the only one who's been unlucky enough to get his current hairline in his teens, and that seems to have been happening to me since I was 12 (His brothers are all in their 60s). My left side has been stabilized for3 and a half years, but my right temple seems to be slightly more receded compared to some pics of mine 2 years ago. I don't wanna take the risk of ending up like none of my uncles, so that's why I'll start using Rogaine Foam 5% 2x a day and nizoral 3x a Week by next Tuesday. I'm going to keep you guys updated on my progress until the end of this year. My questions are: What should I respect considering my family history of hair loss, and Is there a possibility I'll regrow my NW0 hairline I had as a kid? I'll be soon posting pics of my current hairline, temples and corners in a few hours. Hope I'll get some good regrowth with those products.

Expect s possible shed for 2/3 months. You HAVE TO APPLY IT EVERY DAY. NO MISSING!! If you want the best results, apply twice a day everyday without skipping a single one. Also, you probably will not grow back all the hair, but you have a good shot of thickening up current hair and Keeping it. Any regrowth is a huge bonus but don't expect it to be crazy. In conclusion, expect shedding and thickening of hair.

Hey pavi i know you have been satisfied with minoxidil. I have been applying it to my temples (they were thin) but it's been 4 weeks now and it only seemed to have destroyed my temples. I mean I had thin hair there and now I have basically none. Did you experienced this in the beginning? You think I should keep going and hope for the best? Is it too early to drop? Because I'm kinda freaking out with the results so far.
Thanks..

It's way too early to drop. You need AT LEAST 4 months to see if minoxidil is providing you benefit. I went through a shed for 2 months... But shedding hair is NOT the same as losing hair. The minoxidil is inducing anagen phase in your temple hair, so the old hair shed. Keep in mind that if after 4 months your hair looks the same, you keep using it for its maintenance power

Minoxidil and ketoconazole shampoo will help you keep what you have. I didn't start using those products until I was 39 years old or so. I wish I would have started at age 25 or so. It really is an effective combination.

It sounds like you already have lots of hair for a 16 year old, so it might not even be necessary at this point. I guess it's never too early to get started.

By the way, after using Regenepure DR, Big 3 shampoo, and Nizoral, I found that Nizoral was my least favorite. Nizoral seemed to leave my scalp feeling dry and irritated.

Good luck with your plan.

You should expect absolutely nothing, you should pray for everything.

I am still trying to figure out what exactly Nizoral does. I'm on it by itself right now and it's caused a shed of some sort since my hairline is worse now. I'm only 2 months in. I've decided to ride it out for 2 months (which is when I should finish the bottle). I am hoping the shed was because of the anti-DHT properties but I think that's wishful thinking.

I stopped using Nizoral after I found out it contained "sodium laureth sulfate", which appears to be similar to "sodium lauryl sulfate". It really did leave my scalp feeling dry. Watch the following video on YouTube. He talks about the potentially bad effects of this chemical. Towards the end of the video he picked Nizoral as his 4th favorite shampoo. He mentions that Nizoral dries the scalp, and I've found this to be true. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQBk3_73Ubk

It definitely dries my hair but I'm just wondering if my shedding is from that or if it's from the nizoral working.

My hair felt way better when I was just using T/Gel.

However if this shed is from nizoral working I want to keep going.
