Statins Impact On Hair Loss / Thinning

I started a low dose of simvastatin (Zocor) in the last year and I'm fairly convinced it has caused significant thinning and some loss of hair. I'm over 50 now, but it's been happening at a much accelerated pace and I can see bald patches when I look on top (I don't really have pattern baldness). Anecdotally, has anyone switched statins and found better success?

The easy advice is: Why are you on a statin? Probably because your diet is less than ideal. You'd be better off making dietary changes and seeing if things improve.
