Steroids and hair loss?

I'm 37, and have taken AAS on, and off for 15 years. Never had problem with hairloss, but now I'm starting to get thin around the crown area, and a little on the hairline. My type of hairloss wouldn't be genetic male pattern baldness correct? And since my hairloss most likely is due to androgenics, and not genetic male pattern baldness would hairloss products work better on me? I'm thinking about Avodart, rogaine, spirolactone, and nizoral.

No one can predict when the male pattern baldness gene will kick in. You may in fact have it. Steroids can sometimes speed up the male pattern baldness gene in those that have it. What's your family history?

Oral spironolactone will give you gyno and basically castrate you, Avodart (dutasteride) is more potent than finasteride, so why not try finasteride first?

Pretty sure he meant topical spironolactone, it's very popular in the bodybuilding community. I'd second that about finasteride though. And yes Androgenetic Alopecia can appear at any age if you have the genetic predisposition for it. You're lucky it's manifesting itself this late, 37 is not bad at all.

This should be a pretty decent hair loss prevention stack on cycle:

-0.5-1.25 mg finasteride once daily
-5% topical spironolactone (S5 cream) twice daily
-2% Nizoral shampoo twice weekly

Honestly minoxidil is optional for prevention simply because it won't do much to address elevated androgen levels on cycle.

Make sure to NOT use finasteride if you are using nandrolone (NPP) though. It may sound counterproductive but this is because the 5-alpha-reductase enzyme is needed to metabolise nandrolone into dihydronandrolone, a much weaker androgen, if you're on finasteride on cycle with NPP, 5AR will be inhibited and NPP, a potent androgen, won't be metabolised and hence will begin to miniaturise hair follicles. The same warning applies for dutasteride and any other 5AR inhibitor.

No history of hairloss in family. Both sides as far back as I know had full heads of hair. I know if you take finastride or avodart you should take a strong anti estro. The spirolactone I was talking about is topical.

Yea I know about finastride and deca is a no no.

About 10 years ago I took some topical spironolactone, and rogaine on a cycle just for preventive measures, although probably didn't need back then. I notice I started sprouting up new hairs all over my hairline, and seems like it thickened my hair wherever I put it.

You don't need a crazy anti E on finasteride or dutasteride. That's the bodybuilder in you talking. Majority gets no side effects whatsoever to
