Hey guys would really appreciate some help, struggling with my hair and wanted to know if it's normal what I am going through and if I just have to be patient.
I was using Minoxidil twice a day morning and night for around 2 years. Minimum effect.
I have been on Finastride for approx 4-5 months now + the same Minoxidil twice a day. I have a Dr who I see and he analyses my hair with the ultra zoomed in camera they have. When he first saw me I agree I had a lot of dead looking hair roots and you could see by their colors they looked like really weak type of hairs, even the ones growing were really weak.
I saw him after 3 months (When I got my next batch of Finastride) and he was really positive and so was I, as we could actually see with the same camera it was showing growth of much darker/thicker looking hairs from my scalp growing where before it was much lighter dead looking hairs. Visually in my hairline it wasn't amazingly different but from the camera I agree with him that after 3 months there were clearly alot more darker looking hairs growing in my temples and hairline (the areas of my concern)
Now 4-5 months I feel I might be going through a second shed of some sort since I'm on Finastride. The first was within the 2nd month and I feel like something weird is happening now as I feel it's stagnated, my hair condition doesn't feel great, I find it really hard to style my hair and even if I get a haircut or some sort it doesn't help. Also I feel like when I do try to style my hair, I'm getting way more hair fall in the sink then usual.
My question was in this stage, is this normal? Should I persist with Finastride? Is there something I can do or use on my hair to make it better condition. (Currently I shower every morning using thickening shampoo, I'm of south asian origin so my hair is naturally thick and also curly.) I'm really struggling with my hair, I tend to sweep it to a side to cover my temples which recently has people asking me am I losing my hair that's why I'm sweeping it to a side like a wig style but I can't put my hair up as then it exposes my temples.
In my pics below the pic of my in a yellow top is before I used Finastride.
And the 2 other pics are literally today.
Any help adivse appreciated, totally hate this.
