Can someone please explain to me the nature of testosterone?

Is it produced in the testicles?

Is the production at a constant level or does it fluctuate?

When you are in strong physical activity are you using up testosterone or creating it?

When you masturbate or have sex does it create or use up testosterone?

Is it a chemical? Where does it go when expended?

Is a sex drive a result of testosterone or is testosterone a result of a sex drive?

Before anyone starts with the "Working out will not make you loose hair" or "masbubation will not make you bald" retorts don't bother. I'm just trying to understand the nature of testosterone.

I'm sure some others of you would like to know these answers too.

Thanks

Testosterone is a male sex hormone important for amonst other things sexual development. It is produced in the testicle and released from there into the bloodstream. Levels do vary in certain situations eg when having sex/masterbating and strenuous excercise levels increase (but not by any huge amount). The body can regulate itself to keep the levels of hormone production at a good constant rate even.
