Saw the add bought the product and now im 20 times more hair challenged than before. sores on the head, excessive iching, considerable hairloss or {shedding} is the norm I hear. So why not say that on the product? {Oh gee guy if you use our product your gonna get real bald, and the hair you used to have before regrowth you will lose again after you stop}. If I knew then what I know now I'd never have tried rogain, I'd have way more hair to show for it. Oh yea this is week 14. Anybody for a classaction?

You are probably allergic to the PPG in the solution. I think "sores on the head" should have been your first clue to stop using it. I doubt there will be a class action suit agains a product that works well for many. By the way, it says right on pamphlet that comes with the product and probably the box as well, that your hairloss may increase while first using the product.

i'm actually kind of in the same boat... i'm on about my fourth month of the foam. things started to look a little better when i added finasteride, but i stopped because of sore nipples. now it looks like someone took a clippers on setting 1 to the first inch or two past my hairline on my right temple. left is getting worse. back on finasteride yesterday out of desperation. still on the foam, because now i'm afraid to stop. no crazy side effects from the foam, though. just less hair. trying to stay optimistic, but getting set back a second time is damn near soul crushing.

i should add that i have admittedly added and taken away sporadically from my regimen once or twice, which i suspect doesn't help things. for example, while waiting for a shipment of foam i substituted with spectral dnc for a couple of weeks. bad idea? i also recently switched from nizoral 1% to revita eod (also using nano eod), but i doubt this has much to do with it seeing as how it's only happened to the area where i apply minoxidil. that's really about it, though.
one thing i've wondered, though... just how strict is a routine with topicals in terms of like... well, i keep a hectic schedule and work all hours of the day. so sometimes i wake up at say, 10, sometimes like 2ish. i usually make sure to apply twice a day at least 8-12 hours apart. but the times aren't always the same. wonder how much of a difference this makes...
i've been taking max-hair (msm) in hopes that it will make the shed hairs grow back faster, but honestly they look like they went back to being vellus.
i should also add that it does look like my hairline has come forward a bit, but i would gladly take my old norwood 2 back for baseline. i know it's useless to complain, but it's hard for me not to kind of wish i never started treatment. i didn't look bad at all when i started, and despite doing research i was nowhere near as informed as i am now. so i went with rogaine, because it was so easily acquired. it's been months of constantly wearing a beanie and now it's getting warm out...

I lost my temples when they were still pretty solid from using minoxidil and then quitting after a month. It in my mind accelerated the process because I had been receding for more than 4 years with my hair becoming finer and lighter.

But I could still see the progression moving ever so slowly. But one month of minoxidil all hair gone to never come back.

Say what you say but that is what happened or what I think happened.

sh*t, so am i fucked? i mean, i look crazy right now. i'm not shedding hairs, but it looks like someone buzzed my temples or something. there are still hairs there, but barely.

It can understandably be quite scary but you have to stick to it for at least 12 months before you can judge it properly, minoxidil has also ravaged my density but I can see the signs of regrowth underneath, stopping is the worst thing you could do in my opinion, it would be worse never knowing for sure.

yeah, good call. i am sticking with it. i freaked, because i thought i had finished shedding, and it all seemed to be filling back in and then "BOOM!" back to square one. actually, worse. the other thing is that i'm not sure one classifies a proper shed exactly. i was just expecting the area where i apply the foam to thin out, but i basically just woke up and the temple areas look much shorter. as if someone had just buzzed my temple areas short and left the rest. i had never noticed any shedding prior to treatment, but for the first couple of weeks on the foam i did noticed a ton of tiny hairs in the sink. i've since buzzed it to about 3/4 and inch, and it's honestly the best thing i've done since i started treatment. i can still see those weird short patches, but it's hard to tell if it's actually thinner or just slightly shorter than the rest of my hair. maybe i got this "short hairs" effect because it's the temples? my hairline is still the same, so it's not like i'm naturally receding quicker now. it's got to be the treatment. has anyone else "shed" in this way?

i do think it was a bad idea to substitute the foam for spectral dnc for a couple of weeks, as i did. spectral seems like a good topical treatment, but i think the switch to all the extra stuff may have shocked my follicles or something. which worries me. i'm just gonna stick with the foam indefinitely, because i can see myself using it more consistently long-term.
