Time to get on minoxidil?

Hi!

I've been on propecia for nearly 7 months now (started off at 0.125mg, now at 0.5mg) and its worked well so far. i've maintained my hair (a success in itself), and i've seen small hairs growing that weren't there before (i think these are called vellus hair). These small hairs continue to grow at a very small pace, but they're very thin and don't have much colour, and so are not noticeable by others...only myself in the mirror.

do you think it's time for me to get on minoxidil? i think given my success so far with these small hairs sprouting up, i may do well on minoxidil, but if i can i would prefer to avoid it.

at the end of the day, i recognise this is my choice, i'm just lookig for some advice. should i get on minoxidil and regrow my hair, or should i just stick with finasteride and nizoral with which i've experienced success?

(btw, i'm 23 and a diffuse thinner)

Thank you!

You've barely given propecia time to provide it's full benefits and might not need minoxidil unless you have alot of hair to regrow.....how bald are you?

Yeah, like beaner says, I'd want to know what you are on the Norwood chart if you don't have any pictures, that sort of factors into answering the question lol.

I am in the exact same situation as you.
finasteride mantained, thickend and regrew just a little bit for me; but I still have those baby hairs in the temple.

I started minoxidil for about two months, then dropped off.

The reason was this: my hair looks ok now.
Sure, it's not that great high- school picture perfect hairline I used to have, but it doesn't look like I'm balding either. I'm just a guy with a mature hairline, and that's fine.

It was a question of convenience versus vanity.
And I chose convenience. Taking the pill (and washing your hair every other day with nizoral) is much more comfortable than applying rogaine twice a day.

But I'm speaking for myself.

If you yourself feel comfortable with what finasteride mantained, and you yourself feel you look good, there's no need to go to that extra length.

Thanks for the responses.

Here's a picture. it was taken in august 2008, but my hair has pretty much maintained since then (perhaps, improved slightly). I have a reasoanable amount of hair, i think. i'm keeping my hair longer these days, but can't upload any recent pics. hopefully this pic can help.
