Topical spironolactone - are acne side effects possible?

Hi,

I came off Propecia because it was giving me bad acne, which was scarring.

I want to try topical spironolactone - however I am worried that if I put it on my hair, then it will transfer to my pillow and then to my face (I move around a lot when I sleep!). Then, this will cause acne on my face again.

Is this a plausible scenario - would topical 5% spironolactone applied to my face cause side effects like acne etc.

Thanks for any responses (particularly from established posters like Bryan etc.)

Both oral and topical spironolactone has been used as a treatment for acne! :)
