Im 28 and since around 25 I started to lose a lot of my hair. I was thining on top. Crown area is worse. Several relatives have mentioned that I was losing hair. My brother which is 5yrs older to me has not lost much hair at all! And since I was losing hair it made me look older than I am. I thought about cutting my hair short but then I heard about toppik and decided to use. Man this thing is the bomb! I just use toppik alone and hairspray it afterwards. I have ordered more and order their toppek hair thickener. I hope that works. Anyway now I don't go a day without this.

I have a question about it. When you go get your hair cut...do you still apply it? Your stylist will see it. I haven't used it long enough that I need a haircut yet. But now am wondering about that.

Also I read people are saying that it makes your hair fall out more. I think this might be a illusion. If you use toppik a lot and then you look at your hair when you don't have toppik then it can seem that you have lost a lot more hair cause you get use to seeing a fuller head? That is my theory?

I will post pic. later to show the difference with and without toppik!

Here is pic before and after toppik. by the way my supply was ending when I took this pic so I was appling vary sprangly!

Let me know what you think?? I have found out why my hair has been thining a lot. I have hypothyroidism and that causes you to lose hair! Now its under control so I hope to get my hair back!

Hello, for being honest it is hard to judge how good it works. The second picture is much darker so that automatically there is less scalp visible. I am also thinking about Toppik, since my hair line is still pretty good, but I am thinning all over my head.

I thought if you have thyroid problems all your hair is thinning not just male pattern baldness area.

Keep in mind that you can have both male pattern baldness and hair loss caused by thyroid problems!

definetely don't want that stuff in your hair when you are getting it cut. Your barber already knows you are thinning anyways, and will make the hair much messier and harder to cut. Toppick is good stuff, dermattch is great too.

I have only used Rogaine 5% minoxil (sp?) But I stopped using it cause I was not sure if I was seeing any difference or not? I still had people commenting on me thining so I was still feeling insecure about it. So thats why I thought about trying out toppik. I haven't tried dermatch although from the post I have read I really would like to try it. Other than that I have not used any other type of medications.

About getting it cut. Actually my sister is my "stylist" Im very finiky at who cuts my hair. Have had bad jobs in the past. So my sister has cut my hair for about 5 yrs or so.

Since using toppik I have not had anyone mention anything about thining hair and I feel a lot more secure about my hair.

I will try to take better pictures. these pictures were taken under same light and literally 5 minutes after the first one. I don't know why the camera capture less light on the second pic. I will try it again.

Jayman I will look into durasteride and think about using it. thanks!

Here is another picture I just took outside. Im in texas and its VERY bright and hot!

I personally don't like to apply a lot of toppik. I like enough to disguise my scalp but not enough to hide it. Although I feel a lot more secure about my hair...I still wonder what people see when I put this on?

toppik looks like it works great. def look at dutasteride- it's the best chance you have at maintaining your hair. also look into copper peptides like tricomin or american crew or folligen and also get back on the minoxidil. Use Nizoral 1% shampoo(buy it at the supermarket for $15 for a 7 oz bottle) every 3 days in place of your normal shampoo. Use this stuff for 6 months and I bet you'll see a dramatic improvement- but give it a year.

templemonk,

toppik is only a concealer. It doesn't make the hair grown just covers up what you have lost. You have to use some other method if you want hair to grow.
