Tricomin/Revivogen instead of Propecia/minoxidil?

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anybody thinks alternatives to proven DHT inhibitor/growth stimulant (Propecia/minoxidil) can be effective. I'm reluctant to start those two because propecia may cause long term side effects that are yet unknown and minoxidil can affect your blood pressure and I happen to have blood pressure problems.

I'm looking into Tricomin + Revivogen. These products seem to have excellent reviews on gourmetstylewellness.com main site. Tricomin is also "proven."

Any thoughts?

PS: I've already started nizoral 2% twice weekly.

Hi

I wouldn't go for these two, at least not as the only treatment. First of, propecia is systemically and therefor works from the inside....the two options you gave are topically and therefor limited somehow. secondly, I personally never saw pics of before and after on tricomin nor on revivogen (the pics at their site are very doubtful). My suggestion is to stick to minoxidil and finasteride, and only if you have money left add one or both revivogen or tricomin.
Good luck,

been meaning to ask: why, of all names, did you pick that one, original poster?

this is exactly what I did when I started trying to treat my male pattern baldness back in December 2004 - thought Id use Tricomin to mimic minoxidil and Rev as a propecia subsitute - suffice to say in my experience after 10 months on this it was quite obvious it wasnt working out so I dropped the rev and have been on Propecia for nearly six months but stuck with the Tricomin cos i like the way it feels and at leasts its got some proof behind it. So my answer would be - even though it sounds like a decent way of replacing propecia its really not that simple.

Thanks for your input lithebod,

I don't think that anything can medically reproduce the results of finasteride/dutasteride as of yet.

Revivogen shouldn't be a substitute for these drugs in my opinion.

thanks for all the replies guys.

first off,

pleasegodno-whoa brotha!!!! I had no idea my separated twin brother @ birth was on these forums!
all jokes aside, I tried to register as pleasEgodno but somehow I was assigned with this id without even being notified. I never knew someone else already took it of course.

everyone else: minoxidil might not even be an option for me (pending discussion with my family doctor) and I'm hesitant to go on propecia.
