My first post! :D I'm not sure what's going on with my hair. I am 24, basically a diffuse thinner. I have been on finasteride and minoxidil for about a year. Here's the deal: the regrowth that I 've had (mostly at my hairline and temples along with vertex) is of a different texture. The regrowth is frizzy, kinky, or wiry. :hairy: (By "regrowth" I mean normal pigmented hair that I have had for months now. It is the same length as the rest of my hair which is a couple inches.) Other than the regrowth, my hair is the same - fairly straight, as it has always been. I have noticed this for the past six months or so. Now my hair gets tangled which it never did before. It's annoying, but I'd rather have frizzy hairs than none! Does anyone know why my regrown hair is frizzy?

Also, for the past 6 months, the hair along my neckline or nape (back of head near the neck) has gotten thinner. It's almost like my hairline along my neck has receded. Is this male pattern baldness, a finasteride side-effect, or what?

Any replies are appreciated! :)

I reckon someone has drugged you and performed a small strip transplant from the back of your neck to your hairline and temples while you were out-cold.

be grateful, mosty people have to pay thousands of dollars/pounds for this to be done.

I reckon it was Gunner practising his home transplant technique.

Perhaps in time they'll start to grow in straight again. I know that a few months ago I noticed lots and lots of kinked/wiry hairs amongst the rest, and coming out in the sink and such. Now I notice none, they seem to either have disappeared or started growing in straight. So I say ride it out and see what happens in the next little while. Like you said, kinked hairs is better than none.
