Hey everyone.

I started using minoxidil back in October 2019 and have been suffering from hair loss since October 2018. It is primarily in my crown which is where I have been applying the minoxidil. I have only been using it once a day as I was prone to headaches using it twice a day. For the last 6 months nothing really happened, I notices a bit of shedding still but there was no regrowth and there was no more major hair loss.

In the last month or so I was having some back to back headaches so I stopped applying it for around 4 days and then went back on it (the minoxidil wasn't the cause of the headache it seemed) but in the last week now I have noticed a significant amount of hair shedding. Has anyone else experienced the same thing? Thanks

Side note: Before mid march my hair was very long (around 10 inches) and since mid-march ive cut it down all to around an inch and i feel the shedding became more noticeable with shorter hair.

Topical Minoxidil isn't effective for some people because they lack adequate amounts of an enyzme needed to convert it to its active form. You can either try adding retin-a to your minoxidil or try 5mg oral.
